Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have a new 2021 teleserye coming up and fans are already feeling the kilig from their newest project.
But what is it going to be about?
It's not the first time the acclaimed writer has worked with the love team; last year, he teamed up with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in Ben&Ben's "Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay" music video (whose screenplay he wrote) and the mini seven-minute film gave audiences all the feels.
With Juan Miguel Severo at the writing helm yet again, everyone is hoping for a double dose of sweetness and a peppering of drama, a combo that Kathryn and Daniel do best when the cameras start to roll.
The news was confirmed by both KathNiel, as well as Juan Miguel Severo himself on January 13.
Juan Miguel Severo, who also happens to be Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's real-life friend, already had this project in mind for the couple as early as last year. The writer had been concocting something behind the scenes to surprise KathNiel fans with in 2021.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's new 2021 teleserye is still unnamed and its plot a top secret. The only thing fans can be sure of is that it'll be a romance, but one unlike any of the projects KathNiel has starred in before. The phrase "timeless love" and tagline “Kaya mo bang ipaglaban ang inyong pag-ibig kung galing kayo sa magkaibang panahon?” have also been also used to describe the teleserye, which makes us wonder if the ideas of time travel and parallel lives will define the series!
After all, Juan Miguel Severo is pretty much the emerging master of fantasy-laden stories. His body of work boasts of original storytelling that marries otherworldly concepts and tales of different kinds of love.
2018's Hintayan ng Langit is about a broken up elderly couple (or rather the souls of this couple) that meet in purgatory, Ben&Ben's "Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay" features another couple stuck in a time loop that has them relive their best, and worst, moments together, while 2020's boy love series Gaya sa Pelikula help bring queer stories closer to the mainstream.
KathNiel's most recent onscreen projects include box-office hit romantic drama The Hows of Us and streamable rom-com series The House Arrest of Us which ended just a couple of days ago.
