Kathryn Bernardo Sizzles On The Cover Of Metro Magazine's 30th Anniversary "Body Issue"
Happy 30th birthday, Metro! The country’s leading fashion and lifestyle magazine celebrates three glorious decades of style in its latest "Body Issue." Gracing the cover is the lovely and all-grown-up Kathryn Bernardo who’s ready for a new chapter in her career. Her stunning outfits evoke a nostalgic past inspired by the iconic ’70s, but her insights reveal that she’s primed for whatever the future brings.
Just like Kathryn, this milestone in Metro’s history means an evolution that brings the brand beyond its roots in print, and expands towards the big leagues as it becomes the Metro Super Brand, with not only its print titles but Metro Channel and website, Metro.Style. These are exciting times ahead for both our cover girl and Metro, and the future looks bright and promising.
We’re in the midst of a scorching summer, but Metro amps up the heat with its lineup of personalities for this Body Issue. We feature dynamic duos castaway on the sweltering beaches of Punta Fuego, who defy age and push boundaries beyond physicality in their pursuit of fitness and wellness. We feature beauty queens Kylie Verzosa and Megan Young; mother-daughter tandem of Zsa Zsa Padilla and Karylle; sisters Yassi and Issa Pressman; married couple Angie and Joey Mead King; siblings Gab and Kiana Valenciano; onscreen partners Arci Munoz and JC Santos and Angel Aquino and Tony Labrusca; engaged couple Phil Younghusband and Margaret Hall; and master photographer and his muse, BJ Pascual and Janine Gutierrez.
Body Issue hall of famer Iza Calzado opens up in an exclusive about her struggles with the idea of perfection, her journey towards body positivity, and her advice on dealing with negativity. Her personal account of her challenges will resonate with many women (and men, too), and hopefully, inspire others to start embracing a more positive mindset about their bodies. Also in this issue is the eye-opening account of fitness and wellness guru Nadine Tengco’s bout with menopause, along with her recommendations and tips on how to be healthier as we get older.
And as always, we fill the rest of the pages with the latest beauty and fashion trends that’ll help you ace your style game! Metro editors take you to the beaches of El Nido, Palawan and show you how to transform yourself into the fierce island girl that you are.
Metro’s theme this month is evolution and metamorphosis, and what better way to embrace change than through style!
