“Yes I Am Safe”—Kim Chiu Updates Instagram Followers On Her Wellbeing After Shooting Incident

Gunshots were fired towards the actress’ vehicle while she, her personal assistant, and her driver were en route to a taping

This morning in Katipunan Avenue, gunshots were fired in the direction of actress Kim Chiu’s black van. She was on her way to a taping for her TV series Love Thy Woman.

Kim had apparently been sleeping inside the vehicle when the gunshots were fired, and at around 9 a.m., the actress took to Instagram to give an update on her safety.

“Yes I am safe po,” Kim said. “I’m ok and my P.A. and my driver as well. Papa Jesus protected us. I dont have an idea what really happened, mistaken identity? I guess? Napag tripan? This is a bad joke. 6am on my way to taping, I was asleep inside my car then I heard several gun shots, 8 to be exact. I was shocked and ask my driver what happened, then I saw this bullet on the windshield where my head was laying. Buti nakahiga ako.”

Several celebrities—including Maymay Entrata, Iza Calzado, and Megan Young—have commented on her post, thankful that Kim is okay.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe hours after the incident, Kim couldn't hold back her tears as she recounted the unfortunate event earlier today. Watch her full interview below:

Despite what happened, Kim pushed through with her taping and met up with ABS-CBN bosses Integrated News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes, Star Magic head Johnny Manahan, chairman Mark Lopez, COO of Broadcast Cory Vidanes, and president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, who are all supporting and helping her resolve this case.
