Kim Young-Dae Reunites With His Two "Penthouse: War In Life" Co-Actors In "Sh**ting Stars"
From their previous makjang series, the three actors are now part of a newly-released rom-com. Find out who these "Penthouse: War In Life" actors Kim Young-dae has reunited with on-screen
Kim Young-Dae is back in a K-drama via the newly-released Sh**ting Stars, which began airing last April 23.
In this tvN rom-com set in the entertainment industry, the 26-year-old actor is paired with Lee Sung-kyung. Kim Young-dae portrays the role of a top star named Gong Tae-sung under Star Force Entertainment, while the 31-year-old actress breathes life into the character of Oh Han-byul, the head of the public relations department of that agency. But there is more to their love-hate, talent-PR relationship.
This is a much-awaited K-drama comeback for Lee Sung-kyung, who last starred in the series Dr. Romantic 2 back in 2020.
Kim Young-dae, on the other hand, was a cast member of the three-season series Penthouse: War in Life which undeniably boosted his popularity. Though he was a main cast member in K-dramas Extraordinary You and Cheat on Me If You Can, Sh**ting Stars marks the first time he takes on a male lead role.
And interestingly, in this breakthrough project, Kim Young-dae is reuniting with his Penthouse: War in Life co-actors: Yoon Jong-hoon and Ha Do-kwon. And for fans of that over-the-top melodrama, it’s refreshing to see these three actors in lighthearted scenes.

In Penthouse: War in Life, Kim Young-dae’s role is Joo Seok-hoon, the son of a wealthy real estate genius (Joo Dan-tae, played by Uhm Ki-joon). Yoon Jong-hoon is Ha Yoon-cheol, the father of a soprano student (Ha Eun-byeol, played by Choi Ye-bin) who’s in love with Joo Seok-hoon. Lastly, Ha Do-kwon is Ma Doo-ki, a money-obsessed music teacher at the school Kim Young-dae’s character is attending.
Now, in Sh**ting Stars, the characters of the three actors are totally different from what they previously portrayed. Yoon Jong-hoon currently takes the role of Kang Yoon-seong, a good-looking, well-mannered, and competent manager at Star Force Entertainment. The said agency is led by director Choi Ji-hoon, a character played by Ha Do-kwon.
