Kyle Echarri Honors His Late Sister As He Renewed Ties With ABS-CBN

The “Senior High” star was holding back his tears as he dedicated his latest feat to his younger sister, who died of brain tumor

Kapamilya actor-musician Kyle Echarri is ready to journey to another chapter as he inked anew with ABS-CBN and Star Magic last Friday, November 3, 2023. During the “Solid Kapamilya: Network Contract Signing,” the multi-hyphenate renewed his ties with the network, marking an important milestone in his craft.

ABS-CBN executives Mark Lopez (Chairman), Carlo Katigbak (President and CEO), Cory Vidanes (COO for Broadcast), and Laurenti Dyogi (Head of Entertainment Production and Star Magic Head), and Rick Tan (CFO) graced the affair to witness Kyle’s major career highlight. His two managers, Erickson Raymundo of Cornerstone Entertainment and Edith Fariñas of Star Magic, were also present to show their utmost support.

“In my eight years of being a Kapamilya, dati I didn’t see the importance. But now, I really do. In a world na puno ng kalungkutan—a world na puno ng mga bagay na nakakagalit talaga, it’s nice to be an inspiration to people and show that there is happiness in this world,” Kyle said during the contract signing. “And that is, for me, how to be a ‘solid kapamilya.’”

When asked what he feels about his recent feat, Kyle expressed his sincerest gratitude to ABS-CBN. “I’ll say one thing—na sobrang thankful ako. Sa dami ko pong pinagdaanan recently, it’s very timely for me to be able to sign a contract again. And isa pong masasabi ko po talaga sa ABS-CBN, it’s not just working for them, pero talagang pamilya po ’yung turing sa isa’t-isa.”

Last April, Kyle broke to the public the sad news that his little sister Isabella passed away due to brain tumor. It changed his life forever, but humbled him to a great extent as well. Today, as a new door opens for him, he honors her memory and remains grateful despite his grief.

“I’m a very family man. Alam po ’yan ng mga tao. I just want to leave a message again for my little sister who’s up there,” Kyle almost broke into tears upon the mention of his sister. “Ta, manong made it! We’re here. It’s been a while. I know you’re watching over me in everything that I do and I know you are also part of this whole journey of mine,” he told the audience, “’Yung kapatid koisa rin pong solid kapamilya.”

On the topic of reaching greater heights, meanwhile, Kyle stated in the mediacon, “Isa po talagang dream come true [ito]. Hindi ko akalain na makakarating po ako sa ganito. I mean, this is my second contract signing, but for them to believe in me for this long and to keep on supporting me, I really feel the love and sobrang nagpapasalamat po ako.”

It is easy to remember Kyle as the starry-eyed kid who first ventured into entertainment as a The Voice Kids hopeful. He then became part of the hit afternoon series Kadenang Ginto, and later starred in teenage-oriented shows like Lyric and Beat and Huwag Kang Mangamba. Not long after, Kyle also headlined the series Beach Bros, portraying the lead character Dave Alon.

Kyle shared, “Mahal ko ’yung trabaho ko, e, and I like when work doesn’t feel like work. I’m blessed enough to have that experience throughout all my teleseryes, series, [and] movies that I’ve been able to do.”
