Lady Gaga Is The Next Movie Star We're Watching Out For
This star just keeps getting bigger and brighter.
Lady Gaga is having a fantastic year so far, and if she keeps it up, she's bound to start 2019 with a bang if—or likely, when—she wins big at the Oscars.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let's take the time to bask in the glow of her biggest achievement to date that's quickly propelling her to greatness in a new industry: her film, A Star is Born, that's bringing audiences and critics to tears with its moving portrayals and honest take on the sacrifices that love is capable of.
The film's premise is a familiar one, but is given new shape and depth by the performances of Lady Gaga and her co-star and director, Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook).
Lady Gaga plays Ally, an anonymous singer-songwriter whose talent goes largely unnoticed by her audience of night crawlers who come for the booze, and almost never the songs. Just when her draggy existence feels like it's as good as it'll ever be, she encounters Bradley's Jackson Maine, a declining country musician who spots a diamond in the rough in Ally that's begging to be polished to perfection.

In the process of urging Ally to break free from her self-imposed limitations and insecurities, he falls in love with her. She, on the other hand, is able to peel back the layers concealing the instability that lies beneath Jackson's confident exterior and helps him overcome the demons that haunt him from within.
Both Lady Gaga and Bradley hit the nail on the head with their interpretations of their respective characters, but she in particular hits hers not just with the force of your run-of-the-mill hammer, but with that of Mjolnir, the all-powerful and indestructible hammer wielded by Thor himself.

Known to use her personal experiences as springboards for her art, Lady Gaga's commitment to making Ally as authentic as possible was palpable. Going on camera sans makeup and even dyeing her hair its natural color for the part were just two of the steps she took to bring her character to life.
A particular exchange between Ally and Jackson that appears in multiple teasers and trailers also sends goosebumps down the spines of all those who see it, as it essentially shows Lady Gaga digging deep from her own wealth of experiences and bringing them to the surface:
Jackson asks, "Do you write songs or anything?" To which Ally responds, "I don't sing my own songs."
"I just don't feel comfortable," she continues.
Further probing from Jackson allows Ally to disappear and Lady Gaga to come center stage when her next line is delivered: "Almost every single person has told me they like the way I sounded, but that they didn't like the way I look."
The role, as it seems, was made for Lady Gaga.

Likewise, Bradley has received his fair share of praise for his first (and seemingly successful) attempt at helming a movie.
The actor-turned-director described the experience as "the most artistically fulfilling experience that I've ever had, and it was the most at home I've ever felt ever as an artist" at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, the event where A Star Is Born premiered earlier this week and witnessed Lady Gaga unable to hold back tears.
The 32-year-old beauty, while seated during a panel discussion for a routine Q&A with critics, was described by castmate Lukas Nelson to have "destroyed" every scene she was in. Before she had time to respond, the remark was met with thunderous applause and a minutes-long standing ovation that brought her to tears.
Bradley eventually joined the room offering their full adoration to her, applauding and praising her with sincerity. In tearful happiness, Lady Gaga rose from her chair to address the crowd, blowing them a kiss and mustering a softspoken "thank you."
Describing her own memories of making the film, she said, "I have to echo Bradley. This was the greatest artistic experience of my career."
The Bradley Cooper-directed gem is the third remake of the original film released in 1937, and follows two versions from 1954 and 1976.
A Star Is Born is set to premier in Philippine theaters on October 10.
