Lapillus’ new single “GRATATA” is now out!

MLD Entertainment’s new-generation global girl group Lapillus just released the much-awaited music video of their comeback track, “GRATATA.”

The song, which followed the clique’s first digital single album “HIT YA!” is part of an upcoming mini album titled GIRL’s ROUND Part. 1. The members’ fierce yet fun performances in the MV are backed with aesthetic graphics and upbeat Moombahton rhythm that are easy on the eyes and ears. The visuals are also popping with colors.

The latest song, according to Lapillus’ members, showcases a unique side of the group, a real treat for their fans and followers. With a heavy bass and festive-like tune, the “GRATATA” chant bears semblance to the sound of a machine gun firing its bullets. The single has higher notes than Lapillus’ first track, and tackles a whole new storyline. It talks about one’s ambitions in life, and how to aim for a higher dream to finally land in the lap of success.

The six-member rookie group, who recently visited the Philippines for a promotional tour and fan meet series, is composed of young and talented ladies hailing from mixed ethnic backgrounds. Shana, their leader, is of Japanese descent; Yue, the main vocalist, is an American-Chinese; and Chanty, the eldest member and the group’s visual, is half-Argentinian and half-Filipino. Main vocalist Bessie, main rapper Seowon, and maknae Haeun, on the other hand, are all South Koreans.

The same idol management agency behind the hit group MOMOLAND, MLD Entertainment launched Lapillus on the 20th of June 2022—exactly about six years following MOMOLAND’s debut. With a name originating from the Latin word “lapillus,” which refers to a kind of gemstone or mineral that radiates an array of colors depending on the direction of light, the formation is expected to shine as the next bright “jewels” of the Korean pop music scene in today’s generation.
