Lea Michele's Wedding Details—From Her Monique Lhuillier Gown, To Her Tuscany Dinner Party
Lea Michele, a multi-awarded actress and singer we'll never forget for her portrayal of Rachel Berry in Glee, has finally begun her happily ever after with husband Zandy Reich, and we couldn't be happier for her!
The Golden Globe nominated beauty tied the knot with the entrepreneur on March 9 at the rustic Carneros Resort and Spa in Northern California celebrating their lifelong commitment as husband and wife with 200 of their closest family and friends.
Keeping the springtime ceremony simple and personal, they incorporated lots of details inspired by memories from their three-year relationship as well all the things they're both passionate about. There to bring the vision to life was celebrity go-to wedding planner, Lisa Vorce, who this bride praised endlessly on Instagram as she posted pretty detail shots of her big day.
"I’ve been secretly stalking Lisa’s instagram for years since she so beautifully did @ashleytisdale wedding and the moment zandy and I got engaged she was the first call I made. @lisavorce you are the best of the best. You do what you do so effortlessly and your attention to detail is outstanding," Lea wrote in part.
Some of the things Lea highlighted were her and Zandy's wedding bands (hers being a simple diamond band paired with a second unembellished gold band to honor her Jewish heritage), the vintage music sheet-covered base of her wedding cake to show off her love of music, two of the special cocktails served which happen to be these married couple's personal favorites, and the Tuscany-inspired feast full of beloved Italian dishes and wine as a tribute to Lea's Italian roots.
Overall, all of the wedding's elements came together beatifully in a "botanical meets musical" theme.
When it came to Lea's own style moments of the day, she had Filipino designer Monique Lhuillier and her good friend, celeb stylist Brad Goreski, to thank.
The trio worked tirelessly together for nine months to finalize Lea's look that finally featured a classic silhouette, one that Lea purposely chose to be able to look back at her wedding photos decades in the future and still be head over heels about her wedding dress.
Describing Lea's choice, Monique shared that "Lea's custom, strapless, silk white, silk gazar gown was hand draped over a corseted bodice. Her sculptural neckline highlights Lea's décolletage while the voluminous hand tufted skirt creates a grand silhouette. We paired her timeless look with a Cathedral-length veil with hand appliquéd lace border."
Lea's peep-toe lace wedding shoes were likewise provided by Monique.
Nine months ago this beautiful soul came to me to design her dream wedding dress. The journey with Lea was an absolute dream. I’ve had the pleasure of dressing her through the years, but creating a wedding dress is a truely special process. Lea is a fashion girl and knows what works on her. She came with a vision and together we made it a reality. Lea wanted a classic elegant silhouette and was open to trying on different gowns before making a final decision. Once she put it on, we knew. Joyful tears followed. Lea's custom, strapless, silk white, silk gazar gown was hand draped over a corseted bodice. Her sculptural neckline highlights Lea's décolletage while the voluminous hand tufted skirt creates a grand silhouette. We paired her timeless look with a Cathedral-length veil with hand appliquéd lace border. Thank you Lea for letting me be a part of this milestone in your life. You are beautiful inside and out my friend. May your life continue to be blessed with love and happiness xoMonique #moniquelhuillier #leamichele
There to witness the special occasion unfold were a handful of recognizable faces; Lea's co-stars and Hollywood friends includng Filipino-American Golden Globe winner Darren Criss, Emma Roberts, Becca Tobin, Jonathan Groff, and Ryan Murphy—the last two serving as her "man of honor" and wedding officiant—as well as her parents, Marc and Edith were in complete attendance.
Lea and Zandy's guests shared in the event's joyous atmosphere, shedding tears only when this couple exchanged the vows that they had written themselves at an altar decorated with a lush arc of fresh white blooms and cool green foliage.
A Gleeful wedding, indeed. @leamichele's musically-inspired celebration used a beautiful blend of beige, white and green tones. We're loving the details at her and @zzzandyman's wedding ceremony including the unique bench style seating, candle-lined aisle, gorgeous wedding arch, and dramatic ceiling centered draping. || Photographer: @ktmerry | Planner: @lisavorce | Venue: @carnerosresort || #PartySlate
After being officially made husband and wife, Lea and Zandy wasted no time in shifting gears, inviting their guests to let loose in the party that ensued.
Changing from her princess-like wedding gown into a second Monique Lhuillier creation, Lea was a vision on the dance floor in a lacey mini dress in white. Amazingly, her co-stars also took the stage to serenade their friend, surprising everyone with sing along-worthy pop hits.
Looking back at her wedding, Lea expressed that it was nothing but amazing, but what she's happiest about is getting to spend the rest of her life together with Zandy.
Lea and Zandy are currently enjoying their tropical honeymoon in the Caribbean.
