#LoveBolt And #TheWanForAnne: Weddings In New Zealand Is The Hottest Trend Right Now

A post shared by Nicole Warne (@garypeppergirl) on

Earlier this week, news of Nicole Warne’s (better known as fashion influencer Gary Pepper Girl) wedding to her fiancé, photographer Luke Shadbolt, beguiled the global fashion community as photos of the New Zealand wedding poured in on social media.

While we’re all thrilled for the newlywed couple and their gorgeous fairy tale wedding, whose official hashtag is #LoveBolt, we also got a serious case of déjà vu with another famous New Zealand wedding. Just last year (in fact, a few months ago!), the #TheWanForAnne wedding of Anne Curtis-Smith and Erwan Heussaff also took social media by storm with their breathtaking nuptial, also set against the majestic mountains of New Zealand.

If you think the location is just the only similarity between them, well, check out these other wonderfully coincidental elements that were seen on both #TheWanForAnne and #LoveBolt. Either way, both will have you booking New Zealand as your next romantic getaway.

The Fashion Icon Brides

Born and based in Australia, Nicole made her mark in the fashion industry as Gary Pepper Girl, one of the world's pioneering fashion bloggers and influencers, who paved the way for bloggers to be a critical audience in fashion weeks. She has since won numerous awards, and landed multiple magazine covers internationally. Meanwhile, Anne Curtis-Smith, also born in Australia, is a superstar fashion icon in Philippine showbiz, a consistent cover girl in fashion glossies, and most recently, one of the top two picks of Metro magazine's #MetroMostStylish2018 and one of Metro Society magazine's #MetroSocietyMostInfluential personalities.

The New Zealand Setting

Nicole’s #LoveBolt wedding specifically took place in Wanaka, while Anne’s #TheWanForAnne wedding took place in Queenstown. Both towns are tourist hotspots for their proximity to the Southern Alps, where the mountain and lake scenery is the most breathtaking. If you plan to visit, Wanaka and Queenstown are just an hour’s drive away from each other!

The Dresses

Naturally, iconic brides deserve iconic dresses—not just one, but at least two! At the reception before her wedding, Nicole wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta creation, then switched to a Maison Valentino gown for her ceremony. Likewise, Anne Curtis had two special dresses, first, a Vera Wang gown for her pre-wedding party, then a custom Monique Lhuillier dress for her ceremony. The main takeaway? Make sure to have stunning, easy-to-move-in dresses for your big day in New Zealand!

The Exclusive News

Nicole’s wedding became a hot topic exclusive to Vogue, where you can check out more stunning photos from the event and read more about the wedding. On the other hand, Anne’s highly-anticipated wedding, plus the love story between her and Erwan, was also a best-selling exclusive cover story to Metro Weddings magazine for its October 2017 issue.
