Look! Maja Salvador Bags Best Actress At The First Asia Contents Awards!

"Masaya ako na nakapagbigay tayo ng karangalan para sa Industriya natin sa Pilipinas," she said

It's not only a first for her, but for the country, too!

Maja Salvador ended her trip to Busan, South Korea this weekend with a big win at the first-ever Asia Contents Awards. In the event organized by the prestigious Busan International Film Festival and the Asian Film Market, Maja bagged the award for Best Actress for her portrayal of the drama series Wildflower'Lily Cruz and Ivy Aguas. (The show ran for four seasons from 2017-2018 and concentrated on Lily's journey to avenging her slain family).

Maja was the lone Philippine bet in the awards ceremony dominated by nominees from Korea, Japan, and China.

Once onstage, Maja made sure to share the credit with her co-star and the show's main villain, Tirso Cruz III, as well as Wildflower directors Ruel Bayani, Cathy Camarillo, and Raymund Ocampo, the last of which received the award with her.

"Thank You #AsiaContentsAwards and #BIFF2019 ❤️ Congratulations Team #Wildflower
wala ako dito sa busan ngayon kung hindi dahil sa inyong lahat. This award is ours.
Masaya ako na nakapagbigay tayo ng karangalan para sa Industriya natin sa Pilipinas," Maja wrote on Instagram to announce her win.

The fact that the actress had celebrated her 31st birthday the day before she won made it all the more meaningful and special.

"Salamat sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa akin. kayo ang inspirasyon ko para ibigay lagi ang best ko. Mahal ko kayo. Indeed!!! Happy Birthday To Me!!! Thank You Lord Iba ka!!!" she continued.

The awards ceremony coincided with a personal vacay to South Korea that Maja and her beau, Rambo Nuñez, were enjoying. (The couple has been traveling the world together as of late and have visited Dubai, Italy, and the US, most recently).

Being a proud boyfriend, Rambo posted his own congratulations for Maja but kept it short and sweet: "The Best Actress @iammajasalvador Very proud of you my love!" he said.

With Maja making a mark for the Philippines in the first Asia Contents Awards, we're hoping to see more Philippine-made productions receive recognition.

The awards ceremony aims to shine the spotlight on the most outstanding television dramas from the region, concentrating on shows produced in countries like the Philippines, South Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

Currently, Maja plays the lead role in hit horror television series The Killer Bride and is set to helm her next TV project, Hinahanap-Hanap Kita
