Excitement Is Brewing For "Revirginized," The Summer Movie Starring Sharon Cuneta And Marco Gumabao

Grab your beer pong cups, tighten your bikini strings, and secure your backwards hats because it's going to be one heck of a ride!

Headliner-making director Darryl Yap is at it again.

This time, he enlists showbiz powerhouses and onscreen leads Sharon Cuneta and Marco Gumabao to star in Revirginized, a Viva Films summer flick that's looking like it could be all about crushing the imaginary limits that age puts upon us all.

Only a few details about the film have been revealed as of today, but eagle-eyed fans have been quick to follow the cookie crumb trail leading to its juicy center.

Sharon Cuneta herself shared a couple of Instagram posts to clue us in about what Revirginzed has in store. Posting a still from the movie, she quotes, "Sexiness isn't being young, hot and wearing a bikini. It's being powerful and feeling that you belong to your skin and it feels good."

The quote accompanied a photo of Sharon Cuneta in one of her OOTDs for the film—a fiery red-orange swimsuit featuring a deep scoop neckline and a keyhole detail revealing just enough cleavage (sexy indeed!). Another still from the film that Sharon shared shows her and Marco hand in hand, in the middle of a playful dance on by the beach. There's a pride flag in the background and she's surrounded by a bunch of kids holding brown beer bottles and red plastic cups in the air, and the smile on her face tells us she's having the absolute best time of her life.

In a TV Patrol episode aired earlier this month, it was mentioned that Sharon Cuneta described her new role to be "daring," and she was definitely excited to work on the project. Her co-star Marco Gumabao expressed his gratitude for the opportunity just the same and called the chance to work with the Megastar "a dream come true."

Revirginized marks Sharon Cuneta's return to the big screen. It follows her 2019 titles, horror movie Kuwaresma and family-romcom Three Words to Forever.

On the other hand, Revirginized is Marco Gumabao's newest film. Most recently, he was co-stars with Lovi Poe and Tony Labrusca in drama Hindi Tayo Pwede and played parts in Ulan and Just a Stranger.

Veteran stars Rosana Roces and Albert Martinez are also part of the Revirginized cast.

Aside from the story the film hopes to tell, another thing piquing viewers' interest is Sharon Cuneta's noticeable weight loss.

The 55-year-old came prepared for her new project with a trimmer waist and overall slimmer figure, a fitness goal she's openly talked about in the past. She'd apparently experimented with diet schemes as early as 2016, but is only now reaching her target weight.

Sharon's newfound confidence brought on by her physical transformation is all the more reason to watch the new film that could just be what Filipino audiences need to refill their good vibes meter this summer—the second most of them are spending stuck indoors, no thanks to the ongoing COVID crisis.
