Maris Racal is playing the role of a gymnast in the upcoming movie, Sunshine, written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone.


Maris shared a video clip of her showcasing graceful gymnastics moves while training. She impressed netizens, including her fellow celebrities like Iza Calzado, Agot Isidro, Enchong Dee, Xyriel Manabat, and Jhong Hilario who also congratulated her for her latest project.



As an official selection at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (the lone Filipino film under the Centrepiece Programme!), Sunshine will have its world premiere at the festival to be held from September 5 to 15, 2024.


The Toronto International Film Festival is one the biggest and most prestigious film festivals. Its Centrepiece Programme features titles from all over the world and honors global cinematic achievements.

The movie's plot revolves around a young gymnast who finds out she's pregnant just before trying out for the national team.


Sunshine is written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone and produced by produced by Dan Villegas, Geo Lomuntad, and Bianca Balbuena in co-production with Anima Studios, Happy Infinite Productions, and Cloudy Duck Pictures. Stars Maris Racal, Annika Co, Jennica Garcia, Elijah Canlas, Meryll Soriano, and Xyriel Manabat.
