Maymay Models and Sings "Amakabogera" at Paris Fashion Week
For her Paris Fashion Week debut, Maymay Entrata embodied the essence of her song, "Amakabogera," from start to finish of her modeling stint
Maymay Entrata slayed on a whole new level with her modeling debut stint at the Paris Fashion Week. She not only modeled for two designers, but she also got the unique opportunity to perform her hit song, "Amakabogera," on the runway!
For her Paris Fashion Week debut, Maymay served as a muse for Vietnamese designer Phan Huy and Filipino designer Leo Almodal.
At the Phan Huy show, Maymay modeled two creations. And, behind the scenes, according to her talent management, Star Magic, she also got to mingle with Phan Huy Creative Director Steven Doan, her fellow models, and the stylists of the hit Netflix show Emily in Paris.
At Leo Almodal's showcase, the spotlight was on Maymay as a model and a singer. Modeling an intricate yellow and gold creation, she oozed with charisma as she confidently performed a Taglish version of "Amakabogera," amping up the energy of the show.
"Amakabogera," a song from her album MPOWERED, has been a go-to women empowerment anthem with powerful lyrics that go: "'Di ko kailangang sumabay pa sa uso / Ako'y magiging ako na aking ginusto / Amakabogera, ganda ko'y irarampa / 'Di magpapatinag sa sasabihin ng iba / Amakabogera, umaapaw ang karisma / Ang tunay kong ganda, sa lahat naiiba." In English, someone who is a "kabogera" is synonymous with a stunner and a showstopper.
Maymay also modeled a gold long-sleeved ball gown by Leo Almodal, which the designer accessorized with a statement headpiece. Walking gracefully on the runway, in perfect sync with the dramatic background music, Maymay embodied the essence of her song from start to finish.
In 2018, Maymay made history as the first Filipina model to walk at the Arab Fashion Week, where she wore a creation by world-renowned Filipino designer Furne One.
