What Do Meghan Markle And Jessica Alba Have In Common?
It's been almost two weeks since the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but we're still in love with how much of a fairy tale event it was, perfect in every aspect. Last May 19, the couple, who announced their engagement in November 2017, tied the knot at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. They were later bestowed the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The Suits star opted for a minimalist, pristine white boat neck gown by Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, the first female Artistic Director of the said brand. With her understated elegance, Meghan looked simply stunning.
Complementing this subdued regal aura was Meghan’s equally subdued makeup. Her subtly punctuated eyes, made up in earth tones with lashes volumized to the max, were the focal points that enhanced her au naturel look perfectly. She wore a light nude-pink shade of lipstick with a hint of gloss, overall creating a sophisticated and feminine look that suits her wedding gown best.
Now, what do Meghan and Jessica Alba have in common?
Well, Daniel Martin, the man behind Meghan's gorgeous wedding beauty look, is her good pal, and he also happens to be a close friend and the go-to makeup artist of Jessica.
Daniel, who resides in New York, is a brand ambassador of Dior and a Creative Consultant of Honest Beauty, Jessica's beauty brand that carries a comprehensive line of skincare and makeup products. He is of French (father) and Vietnamese (mother) descent.
Represented by talent agency The Wall Group, Daniel has a long list of celebrity clients which include Demi Lovato, Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams, Selena Gomez, Elizabeth Moss, Priyanka Chopra (who is also Meghan's friend and was among the royal wedding guests), Kate Bosworth, Ali Larter, Amy Schumer, Julianne Moore, Chrissy Teigen, Bella Hadid, Billie Lourd, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Shay Mitchell, Olivia Palermo, Greta Gerwig, Nicole Richie, Judy Greer, Nina Dobrev, Olivia Culpo, Phillipa Soo, Phoebe Tonkin, Ellen Pompeo, and Eva Chen. His early career includes work experience with Aveda, eventually becoming part of Aveda’s product development team in 2001 for the relaunch of their makeup line.
Daniel and Meghan have known each other since 2011, years before the royal romance began.
To express his gratitude for the new member of the royal family, he posted a touching message on Instagram, thanking Meghan for making him part of “such a memorable day, not only in your life, but in history.”
According to Elle magazine, Daniel was one of first people who knew about the wedding. How did she share the good news to him? He received a message from Meghan, asking him if he was available on May 19, followed by a bride and groom emoji.
In the same article, he also shared that Meghan was very collaborative and decisive regarding her wedding makeup. He also helped Meghan’s mom with her wedding look.
Before the wedding, the two had a touching conversation that just proves how grounded Meghan is. Daily Mail UK reported that Daniel asked Meghan how he should address her after the wedding. Meghan simply laughed and said, “I’m always going to be Meg. Just Meg.” After the ceremony, when they met again for touch-ups, she asked him what he thought, and he started crying.
Now, Daniel will probably have to get used to being a makeup artist for the Duchess of Sussex, his good friend and loyal client Meg.
