This year, Metro Body 2024 takes off with some of Star Magic’s brightest rising stars. The annual campaign promotes body positivity and self-acceptance.
Kapamilya artist Brent Manalo, a supporter of the advocacy, joins another season of Metro Body. For the second time, he takes on a photo shoot he is proud of. He said, “I’m all for anything that celebrates body positivity and all types of shapes and sizes, so it’s a huge honor to be part of this again.”
Last year, Brent left an impression as he modeled for the campaign alongside Luke Alford, Chico Alicaya, Argel Saycon, Paolo Gumabao, Lance Carr, Crismar Menchavez, and Ralph de Leon.
As to how he manages to prepare for a major pictorial, Brent told Metro.Style: “Of course, strict diet… and then I started working out agad.” He, too, revealed what his workout routine usually looks like. “Four days a week and then one hour. And then I try to focus on a specific muscle group each day.”

Upon being asked if he has always been serious about shaping up, Brent replied, “Honestly, in the beginning, hindi talaga. But I think nu’ng nag-start na ako, that’s when I started liking it kasi it’s more on what it does to my confidence.”
However, just as he finds joy in building his ideal body, there are times when Brent feels like he is failing at what he does and his down moments would make him half-insecure. “I still go through that now na once in a while, I’d look myself in the mirror tapos I’d feel like I don’t really like what I look like,” he imparted.
Thankfully, Brent is toughened up by his belief that small steps truly matter most, no matter how near or far one is to fetching his grander goals. He opened up, “I try to focus on the progress also, na a couple of years ago, I felt like I was so lanky. Pero now, ’yung small difference matters to me.”
A go-getter by choice, Brent builds his ideal body by immersing in tennis and taking proper and high-protein meals. At times, he makes himself available for vacation, too, and visits attractions and destinations that don’t invite much crowd. To catch his much-intended break, he goes to the beach as well and wanders under the sea and sky.
