Metro Body 2024: Jeremiah Lisbo Is Building His Body Based on His Standards

We caught up with the Kapamilya actor about his fitness challenges and how he overcomes them one at a time

According to the Kapamilya actor, it is an honor to represent <strong><a href="https://metro.style/people/digital-covers/metro-x-star-magic-30th-anniversary-cover/34367" target="_blank">Star Magic</a></strong> and help promote body positivity through a campaign that champions each and every form. Being fit and holistically healthy, after all, is what he is all about. He is a regular gym-goer, whose routine is tallied at four times a week of full-blown, full-body workout. </p><div style="text-align:center"><br/></div><p>“<em>Hindi pa ako</em> conditioned, <em>kasi nagpa</em>-surgery <em>ako ng ngipin ko</em>, <em>e</em>. So <em>kailangan kong mag</em>-rest <em>ng</em> two weeks,” he told <strong>Metro.Style</strong> so he felt he was not able to prepare enough for the shoot that had him showcasing a topless look for the first time. </p><div><br/></div><p>However, just like any of us, Jeremiah sometimes pays attention to what he lacks and the judgment of others. Admittedly, he overthinks his insecurities at times and falls into the trap of forgetting his distinct assets. “<em>Nu’ng</em> college <em>ako hanggang</em> pandemic, [<em>hindi ako masaya sa katawan ko</em>]. <em>Kasi nag</em>-start <em>lang akong mag</em>-workout during pandemic until now,” he disclosed. “Actually, <em>hanggang ngayon</em>, <em>hindi pa ako</em> contented <em>sa</em> results <em>ng katawan ko</em>. <em>Kasi hindi ko maiwasan minsang ma</em>-compare ’<em>yung sarili ko sa ibang</em> body type.”</p><div><br/></div><p>His thin and tall body type, which is best described by Jeremiah as having difficulty in gaining muscle mass and in general, weight, is what he’s currently working on to bring on his ideal body. Jeremiah shared, “<em>Gusto kong i</em>-improve ’<em>yung</em> legs <em>ko</em>, <em>e</em>, <em>kasi ang</em> skinny <em>ng</em> legs <em>ko</em>. He shared, “More on high protein <em>talaga</em>—chicken, egg... Steak! <em>Minsan</em>, <em>gulay din</em>—broccoli. Salmon… ’<em>Tsaka ’yung mga</em> supplements <em>na rin</em>. <em>Nakakatulong din ’yun</em>.”</p><div><br/></div><p>As someone who prefers to spend a huge chunk of his time cozying up at home, Jeremiah knows how to keep his gym sessions and sports games all worthwhile. “<em>Hindi naman ako</em> strict <em>sa</em> food,” Jeremiah noted. “<em>Mas</em> more on discipline <em>na dapat makapag</em>-workout <em>ako</em> four or five times a week… <em>Hindi naman masyado ’yung</em> bulky <em>na</em> bulky.”</p><div><br/></div><p>Active in basketball, functional bodybuilding, CrossFit training, and casual swimming, Jeremiah shared with us what summer activities are in store for him: “<em>Ang daming nagsasabi</em>, [<em>pumunta raw ako sa</em>] Siargao. <em>Sobrang ganda daw</em>. <em>Dapat daw</em>, <em>mag</em>-stay <em>daw ako du’n</em>, one week. <em>Para masulit ko daw</em>.
