Kyle Echarri arrived at the shoot in a buoyant mood, an actual spring in his step. He sports a healthy tan, the kind that makes you want to hop on a flight to an island ASAP. He’s also as lean as ever. The 20-year-old actor—who has starred in Kadenang Ginto, The Iron Heart, and more recently in Senior High—has been putting in the work!
Kyle shares that his secret is consistency—further proving that you can achieve your fitness goals with good diet, ample sleep, and daily workouts. He told Metro.Style, “To prepare for this shoot, I worked out twice a day. I like to run at least 5k in the morning, that’s my cardio for the day. I go to the gym at night and I usually do my workouts in sets—chest and shoulders, back and shoulders, and legs and abs.”
Like many of us, Kyle grew up with insecurities. “Growing up, I was pretty insecure with my body. I coped with my insecurity not by hiding my body but by actually flaunting it more,” he opened up. “Lagi akong shirtless around the house when I was a kid! But It was always something I really wanted to work on. I got more into fitness when I started playing football/soccer.” Overtime, Kyle started to dabble in basketball and eventually got interested in running and followed a workout routine more religiously.
“I took my workouts seriously when I had COVID in 2020/2021. For 21 days, nasa kwarto lang ako noon, wala ka magawa. I did this YouTube program and ever since nagtuloy-tuloy na ako. A big shoutout also to Enchong Dee, he’s really one of the people who pushed me to pursue my workouts. This was during our taping for Huwag Kang Mangamba.”

In terms of his diet, Kyle shared that he likes to have a high protein meal. He achieves this by incorporating red rice and grilled chicken into his diet. He admits that sometimes he couldn’t resist fried chicken and white rice. He’s human, after all! A few bites of fried chicken every now and then keeps him going.
“I’m so happy to be part of Metro Body. It’s actually my first time to do a shoot like this. I’m doing this for body positivity, something I am really proactive about. It’s important to be comfortable in your own skin and to learn how to love yourself both mentally and physically,” said Kyle.
Now that summer is in full swing, you can almost always spot Kyle in Cebu. After living in Orange County, California during most of his childhood, his family moved to Cebu in 2014. It didn’t take him long to embrace the outdoor lifestyle! He told us, “I’m a beach and nature person through and through. I like to have a good tan and most of all, I like to hangout outdoors.”
A quick look at his Instagram will show you how much he enjoys the company of nature whenever he travels. He likes to swim in oceans and considers camping and hiking when his schedule permits. His recent trips to Utah and Bali provide plenty of travel inspiration.
Something he likes to tick off his bucket list is traveling to South America. “I’ve always wanted to go to South America because their culture reminds me of the Philippines. I’d love to spend a summer in Argentina or Brazil,” says Kyle. When it comes to roadtrips, Nasugbu, Batangas is top of mind. Kyle has fond memories visiting the Atayde’s in their vacation house in Batangas. His go-to roadtrip song is Still Beating by Mac DeMarco. Picture yourself in a car with Kyle, listening to a lot of soothing indie rock and R&B.
His upcoming project Pamilya Sagrado will feature him acting alongside Piolo Pascual, Tirso Cruz III, John Arcilla, Aiko Melendez, Shaina Magdayao, and more. Kyle is slowly but surely cementing his place in the leading-man category, and we’re excited to see more of Kyle in the small and big screens.
