Here's What Miriam Quiambao Has Been Up To In Her First Month With Baby Elijah!

If there's one birth that's proved to be one of the most memorable so far this year, it's that of Miriam Quiambao's baby boy—a miracle that she had been praying for for years, and one that finally arrived on the evening of February 16.

At 43 years old, Miriam went through her first pregnancy and became a mommy of two, with her husband, Ardy Roberto, and first son Joshua, by her side from day one. Together, they're now an even happier family known for their devotion to their faith and forever being grateful for everything, no matter how big or small a blessing is.

It's been a month full of adventure and learning for the Quiambao-Roberto household since little Elijah said hello to the world. This is what they've been up to since!

Clean, clean, clean!

In the midst of worrying about where a newborn will sleep, who gets the night shift, what clothes he'll wear, and if his milk supply is covered, sometimes, something as basic (but crucial!) as making sure every nook, cranny, and surface of his new home will be spotless when he arrives must be considered as well. When it came to Miriam, it was her first priority; Elijah was born a month too early and had a compromised immune system; he needed to be protected as much as possible!

To be confined at the hospital on my 34th week of pregnancy was totally unexpected. I still have not yet fully exhausted my nesting phase and have yet to clean and prepare our home for our precious baby’s arrival. . Thank God there’s @ninjamadeph! They sent me a team of expert cleaners to thoroughly clean our bedroom and bathroom and prepare it for our homecoming. They made sure to clean every nook and cranny (even hard to reach areas) and made sure no allergens, dirt nor dust will bother me nor my baby. Swipe left to see them in action. (Make sure to watch the 2 videos). . I highly recommend @ninjamadeph if you need to have any deep cleaning done in your home. I am definitely one satisfied Momma and will surely get them again to clean the rest of the house! . Can’t wait to get home with my newborn and enjoy my home sweet home! . #MiriamRecommends #MommyDiscoveries

Food for the heart and tummy, too

Miriam has openly shared her challenges with her late pregnancy in the past, one of which was her discovery of having food sensitivities and intolerances—the inflammation from which could have contributed to her struggles with infertility. However, now that she's had a baby and delivered him safely, she's more than free to indulge. The first thing on the menu? A generously topped slice of pizza!

Finally! This is the moment I have long been waiting for: baby feeds on me while I feed on pizza!!! ?????? . For the past year, ever since I learned that I am intolerant to certain foods, I have been avoiding rice, dairy, potatoes, breads and anything that has wheat in it (except pasta made of pure durum wheat semolina which I am not intolerant to). . Scientific studies have shown that when we eat foods that we are intolerant to, it causes certain inflammation and delayed onset allergic reactions in our body which could include allergic rhinitis, migraines, skin irritations and the like. It could also possibly lead to other chronic health conditions in the future. In my case, any inflammation in my body may have been a reason for infertility and other effects that may trigger a reaction that could worsen my APAS condition and lead to further complications in my pregnancy. I learned what those foods are by taking the Food Intolerance blood test from Hi Precision Diagnostics. . Now that I have given birth, I can finally got to treat myself to some much anticipated pizza! Yummm!!! . Tomorrow, I’m back to my regular programming but today, I shall indulge. Happy Sunday! . #SundayIndulgenceDay #CelebratingLife #ElijahDay1 #MyAsianStory

Family dynamics

It's a natural reaction for an older sibling to feel a little displaced with the arrival of a younger sibling—especially when it's a tiny human who's suddenly monopolizing mom and dad's attention. The situation can escalate if not handled with tenderness and understanding, and luckily for Miriam, those two qualities have always been two of the many that are at the core of who her family is. Joshua isn't at all upset with Elijah; the two have grown to become inseparable.

Praise God, Joshua has been taking well to his little brother. It seems gone were the days when he’s been feeling threatened with the baby’s impending arrival. Now he’s so tender hearted and just wants to be carrying Elijah every chance he gets. It’s so cute to see them together. ???????? . The little one recognizes Joshua’s voice. Perhaps it’s because Josh has been talking to Elijah even while I was still pregnant. The baby calms down whenever he hears his big brother’s voice. . Elijah even gave him gifts when Kuya came to visit us at the hospital. One of them is this shirt that says “Best Kuya Ever.” I’m sure Kuya will live up to his new role. ?????????? . John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” . #BrotherlyLove #LuckyMeInstantMommy #NewMomAt43 #ElijahRoberto

Renewed appreciation

When a huge change like a new adddition to the family comes, people often take a step back to admire how far  they've gone in life and appreciate who was by their side from when they first embarked on the journey. Ardy shared the spotlight with Miriam when she dedicated a heartfelt post to the sacrifices he needed to make to accommodate her changing needs as an expecting mom.

Having a baby is no walk in the park and I’m grateful to be taking this journey with my husband, @ardyroberto who’s been with me from the very start: . From praying along to have a baby with me, to sharing the joy of the news of pregnancy, to taking care of me during pregnancy & accompanying me to my doctor’s appointments, taking over homeschooling when I couldn’t anymore, sleeping next to me on the hospital bed at the Triage Room when I was admitted at the hospital, being at the OR with me and caring for the baby cause I was under anesthesia, to comforting me in my pain post-surgery, burping the baby, bottle feeding, changing diapers, bathing/ sunbathing the baby, skipping sleep when I can’t get up anymore due to exhaustion while waking up early to homeschool Joshua in spite of your lack of sleep & then forcing yourself to prepare for your talks in spite juggling all of these. Whew! ?? . I just want to honor you for all you’ve done and all you are doing. We may not have instagrammable pictures of every moment but every moment has been instagrammed in my mind.?? . Thank you, babe, for being my Rock, my Caretaker, my Comforter, my Co-Parent, my Lover, the Best Partner, ever! I feel God’s love and care thru you. ?? . I love you! ???????? . #BestHusbandEver #GodsBestPartnerForMe #GodsGiftToMe #NewDadAt53 #MiracleBaby #HomeschoolDad #BestDadEver #ElijahRoberto

Keeping the faith

She'll happily tell you about her re-invigorated relationship with God any day; Miriam has a pretty solid faith, and it's one she certainly credits for helping her get through her doubts, physical pains, and emotional roadblocks. Thanks to Elijah arriving at what she describes as the perfect time, her belief has been strengthened even more, and her faithfulness is something she hopes to pass on to Elijah as he continues to grow.

On Perfect Gifts & God’s Perfect Timing . I was supposed to be scheduled for CS today, March 12, 2019, about week before Baby Elijah was due. For some reason, God sent him almost a month early and was born last Feb. 16, 2019, just a couple of days after Valentine’s day. . It has been a little over 3 weeks since and I’m still in awe about how the Lord orchestrated his arrival. My doppler ultrasound was scheduled on a Monday, the same day my OB @dr.beckysingson was scheduled to leave for Japan. By some divine leading, she decided to have a doppler ultrasound a few days earlier where the sonologist found out that my amniotic fluid level was too low. My doctor then decided that I should undergo an emergency C-Section that very Saturday before the baby becomes distressed which could lead to him being stillborn. . It may have seemed a month too early but it was God’s perfect timing — the supernatural childbirth that I was praying for. Now I am blessed that I can cradle him in my arms to stare at his beautiful face. What a perfect post-Valentine’s gift from a faithful God whom we serve! . I’m also blessed to have found the @armsreachph bed side co-sleeper on @kidoozi. It allows me to have my baby within reach so I can nurse or comfort him in my arms without having to get up in the middle of the night. So grateful for this convenience as it allows me to care for my baby while healing post-surgery. . Oh what perfect gifts from above! . #ElijahRoberto #NewMomAt43 #MiracleBaby #TheGreatestGift #AnsweredPrayer #GodIsFaithful #CoSleeping #SIDSAwareness

Happy one month!

New moms can never wait for their kids' first birthdays to celebrate; a first month is just as deserving of a celebration to them! And that's exactly what happened last week when Miriam proudly showed off the progress her little one had made over the last few weeks, dedicating a whole post to him and the limitless love she promised to always give him.
