Modern Family: Kim Kardashian Welcomes Baby #3 Via Surrogate Mother
Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West were happy as can be when they welcomed their third child to the family on January 16.
Kim is already a mother of two and now has a second healthy 7-pound and 6-ounce baby girl to love and care for. News hasn't dropped about what the famous celebrity couple is going to name their newest bundle of joy, but we're sure it's going to be something as attention-getting as their first two kids' names, North and Saint.
Kim and Kanye's collective fan bases eagerly waited for this non-conventional birth as Kim openly shared her experiences of motherhood on social media in the past. Wanting to add another member to her family, the reality TV show star has discussed doctors' warnings of serious health risks should she conceive again. She decided on getting a surrogate in 2016.
With the birth of her third child, the 37-year-old mom thanked her surrogate through messages posted on her website and her app, saying that she helped make her and Kanye's dreams come true through her selflessness and sacrifice.
Kim reportedly stayed in the birthing room during her surrogate's labor, and was the first one to make skin contact with the infant, followed by Kanye.
Rumored to have given birth at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where Kourtney and Kim delivered all their children, the surrogate was never identified. She is believed to be an African-American woman with two children of her own, who lives in the San Diego area.
