New "Hello, Love, Again" Teaser Pays Tribute to OFWs
The new teaser also shows lead characters Joy and Ethan reuniting. We can't wait to say "hello" to this much-awaited sequel
The new teaser of the upcoming film Hello, Love, Again features more than the touching reunion of lead characters Joy (Kathryn Bernardo) and Ethan (Alden Richards)—it's a tribute to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) all over the world, too!
The clip, which lasts for a little more than a minute, starts with Joy looking at the airport departure board. In between videos of a plane landing, a baggage conveyor belt in the airport, and scenes from 2019's Hello, Love, Goodbye and two other Filipino films touching on the stories of OFWs (2000's Anak and 2005's Dubai), a timeless, relatable message tugs at the heartstrings.
"Home is where the heart is, and saying goodbye is never easy. As we build our future searching for a better life, the journey can take us around the world, giving us stories of sacrifice, hope, and new beginnings. Para sa mga taong nangangarap, we say I love you by saying goodbye," the teaser said.
The teaser continued, hinting at what the theme of Hello, Love, Again could be: "This year, we will come home. We will love again. We will find joy." Ethan is then seen in the airport, calling Joy, and the teaser ends with a surprised Joy looking back at him.
"Soon, we will come home to the ones we love," Star Cinema captioned their teaser post on social media. "We’ve barely said our hellos yet, but we can feel your overwhelming support already. Thank you so much!"
Hello, Love, Again, which will be released exclusively in cinemas worldwide on November 13, 2024, is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster film Hello, Love, Goodbye. A film by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, it marks the first collaboration between Star Cinema and GMA Pictures.
Hello, Love, Goodbye ends with Joy leaving Hong Kong to seek greener pastures in Canada, while Ethan stays behind to start a business. It was the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time until January 2024, when Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera's Rewind surpassed it.
Hello, Love, Again is a fitting milestone project, as the film production company has always been known for highlighting the stories of Filipinos all over the world. These stories "shed light on the realities of living and working overseas," Star Cinema noted.
