6 New Year’s Resolutions Inspired By The Metro Channel Hosts
New year, new goals. And this 2019, we’re plotting down exactly what we aim to achieve for the year, putting in our 100 percent effort and pushing ourselves to our limits.
If you’ve been struggling to stay true to your New Year’s resolutions every year, maybe this is the year you’ll actually succeed. From staying fit to becoming a better person emotionally and spiritually, there’s always something to develop and improve about ourselves every day. Be inspired and motivated by these Metro Channel hosts who shared with us quite a journey last year, and will continue to keep us company throughout 2019.
1. Wake up early.
Wake up early so you can accomplish more for the day. Did you know many scientific studies have correlated waking up early to better grades, better planning/organizational skills, better sleep, and more optimism?
Be inspired by EIC on the Move Raul Manzano, who has made it a habit to wake up early everyday to run 10K. Whether he is at home, running around his subdivision; in one of his travels, hitting the gym’s treadmill; or literally dragging himself from the bed after a night of drinking and partying, he never misses his morning jog! What a trooper!
2. Get fit (and possibly ripped).
Marc Nelson is one of the hosts of the travel show Beached, and we’re not surprised that eight out of his Best Nine on Instagram show his beautiful body.

Being fit, of course, comes with many benefits. It can improve your mood since exercise activities like running can increase the amount of dopamine and endorphins your brain produces. It also improves your immune system and resistance to stress, as well as your circulatory system since your blood is pumped more efficiently around your body.
Looking good and getting ripped is just one of the many rewards of working hard for your body. May Marc's sexy photographs and abs inspire us to achieve and continue working on our #FitnessGoals this year.
3. Travel more.
Maggie Wilson-Consunji ended 2018 and started 2019 like she always does: traveling. And her beautiful photos in and of Mexico before the new year started inspire us to explore the world.
Traveling is a great way to meet new people, explore new places and cultures, and spend some time to de-stress, relax, and re-charge for your next big adventure. And with more affordable flights and travel options nowadays, there really is no reason to not start saving up for a trip.
Be inspired by this Beached host (and bum!) who promised to see more of the world this year.

4. Meditate.
Who would’ve thought that something as simple as meditating can improve one’s well-being? Many studies have looked at the benefits of meditation and a simple 10-minute meditation everyday can bring surprising things to your life. According to experiments and reviews, meditation could reduce stress and age-related memory loss, improve sleep, and even help fight certain addictions.
Women of Style host Joey Mead King has always promoted the benefits of meditation, and says that for the last three years that she’s been incorporating it to her physical workout, she has learned to listen to her emotional imbalance, improve her patience, and resurrect her inner power. A few minutes of meditation a day won’t hurt, right?
5. Spend more time with family.
It’s easy to get caught up in our busy schedules and crazy workload, and forget about the time we should be spending with those dearest to us. This year, plan your schedule better and make sure to spend time with your family. Time does not go backwards; don’t waste every opportunity to say “I love you” to those you love and share moments that can never be replicated or bought with money.
Give more time for your family like Metro Home’s Stephanie Kienle-Gonzalez, who makes sure she has time to spend with her husband and two lovely children, whether it’s for the holidays or any normal day.
6. Cleanse your soul.
Detach from social media, take a break from work, and eliminate toxic people from your life. Don’t forget to take the time to just be with yourself, talk to yourself, and free yourself from anxieties that can keep you on edge. The best way to start 2019 is to start fresh so you’ll have a blank canvas and a renewed spirit to take on new adventures and challenges.
Driven’s Tricia Centenera ended 2018 with a little soul cleansing, removing herself from social media and from work to take in the beauty of nature and the love of her family. This is why this year, she is ready to start again and create new goals for herself: bringing sexy back after giving birth to baby Arrow, booking more trips, and learning how to say “no.”
