Love, Finally! The Newly-Married Hugh Grant Steps Out For Date Night

After he surprised fans by getting married last Friday, the 57-year-old English charmer was seen out and about in public for the very first time.

That's right! The British king of romcoms who made you swoon in films like Love, Actually, About a Boy, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones' Diary, and Three Weddings and a Funeral is finally taken—and boy did he take his sweet time!

He married his longtime girlfriend Anna Eberstein, a low-profile Swedish TV producer, with whom he shares three young children at a civil ceremony held at the Chelsea registry office on May 25, Friday. The afternoon ceremony only had a handful of witnesses, including the star's parents, siblings, and children.

While the small, private wedding is a surprise in itself considering Hugh's star power and capability to afford a more lavish setup, what was most shocking was the fact that he got married at all. Throughout his career, the man who had mastered the art of winning the hearts of leading ladies onscreen never, in fact, wished to wed in real life. He was infamously known for making it clear that matrimony and long-term exclusivity were not his cups of tea.

Yet, in an unprecedented event, the multi-awarded actor tied the knot with Anna, a similarly low-profile personality almost 20 years his junior. The two were spotted exiting the registry hand in hand while smiling widely, with Hugh sporting a navy blue suit and tie and a large bejeweled ring, while Anna was photographed in a fitted light blue button down which she paired with a textured white mini skirt and topped off with her simple gold wedding band.

A few days after their wedding, the couple showed up at the Monaco Grand Prix held at Circuit de Monaco where they enjoyed the event as well as the first days of summer. It was the first time that Hugh and Anna made their public appearance as a married couple.

Mostly keeping to themselves and enjoying a honeymoon of sorts, Hugh and Anna appeared to be happily mingling with crowd and walking around the Formula One race track.

Anna Eberstein is Hugh Grant's first wife. He has two other children from a previous relationship with Tinglan Hong.
