Forget Limos And Private Chauffeurs—Nick Jonas Took The Subway To The Met Gala
That's one way to get to an event!
In contrast to many of the stars who attended the fabulous 2018 Met Gala, Nick Jonas ditched extravagant modes of transportation and opted to take the New York City subway—in his thousand-dollar Dolce & Gabbana tux.
The 25-year-old was praised for his practicality and humility, and of course, delighted the few fans who recognized him during their own commute.

He documented the experience on his Instagram account, posting stories throughout the day about his pre-Met Gala activities around Manhattan. He was seen getting a haircut, taking a springtime stroll around the city, snacking on NY pizza, getting made up in his hotel room, posing in his complete outfit in front of a window, and finally, waiting for the number six train to the 77th Street stop.

Nick's only companions were a small video crew and another man who appeared to be his bodyguard during the quick train ride and the 11-minute walk to the Metropolitan Museum.
Speaking of his outfit—boy did that ensemble turn heads on the subway, and on the red carpet!

Following the event's theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” Nick looked sharp in a number from Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria line that featured a single-breasted shawl lapel tuxedo in black silk brocade and sewn with 24k gold thread, a white poplin shirt with gold and onyx buttons, velvet slippers, and a velvet belt. The look was pulled together by a golden cross pendant with matching gems.
