New P-Pop Band BGYO Gets A Stamp Of Approval From Privé Alliance By EXO's Baekhyun

The five-member group got some much-welcomed boost from Privé Alliance, a streetwear line co-created by Baekhyun from K-pop group EXO

BGYO is off to a good start—no, a great start.

The five-member boyband trained and launched by Star Hunt Academy, and is now under Star Magic Philippines, is being touted as this generation's P-pop icon—the Philippines' answer to the international K-pop phenomenon and the Hallyu stars that pushed it forward. The boys are extra fresh on the scene; they were officially launched on January 29 via an online concert featuring members Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate.

They sing, they dance, they charm, and boy oh boy are they winning the girls over and making them swoon, but there's something on their band resume that's an impressive feat.

BGYO was featured by Privé Alliance, an upscale streetwear line that none other than Korean singer Baekhyun has collaborated with. Baekhyun currently stands as the brand's co-creative director.

For the uninitiated, that's a really big deal because Baekhyun isn't just any other singer, he's a member of EXO, one of Korea's biggest names in K-pop. And that means as early as now, the boys of BGYO are already getting stamps of approval from their idols in the industry.

(Cue the applause, please).

BGYO was featured by Privé Alliance on their social accounts wearing pieces Baekhyun himself designed. In turn, the boys thanked the brand for the opportunity that was surely more than a fun photo opportunity.

With BGYO making it their goal to become international artists exactly like the Korean singers they look up to, a nod from a globally recognized label is a much-welcomed boost in their journey to the top.

Before BGYO was featured by Privé Alliance, they made their primetime debut on ASAP's January 31 episode. They performed their first-ever single titled "The Light," an edgy Filipino-English rap bop that encourages young people to keep going despite life's toughness.

As Star Hunt Academy recruits, the boys of BGYO trained under Filipino and Korean coaches alike. They were scouted in 2018 and became an official group in 2020.
