Paris Hilton Is Engaged, And Her $2M Ring Is Ginormous!
What a way to ring in the new year! The Leftovers actor Chris Zylka, 32, has popped the question to famous hotel heiress and socialite Paris Hilton, 36, in a casual yet romantic proposal atop a mountain in Aspen, Colorado on January 2.
An overjoyed Paris took to Instagram to announce their engagement, and she has nothing but kind words to say about her “best friend & soulmate" and now fiancé.
I said Yas! ???????????? So happy & excited to be engaged to the love of my life. My best friend & soulmate. Perfect for me in every way. So dedicated, loyal, loving & kindhearted. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! You are my dream come true! Thank you for showing me that fairytales do exist.??

“I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! You are my dream come true! Thank you for showing me that fairytales do exist,” she says in her Instagram post. She also had a similar tweet. Cue: Collective "awww"
Paris also posted a video of the proposal, which shows her giving Chris her resounding "yes!" as soon as he got down on his knee (read: split second) and uttered the words “will you marry me?” She got the ring's green box from him, leaned forward, and bent down to kiss Chris. Then Paris excitedly got up and put the ring on her finger, and all she could muster to say at the sight of her ring was "what?!" And it looked perfect on her—stunning and seriously massive!
Obviously, she cannot get enough of her precious new bling and posted a black and white profile photo with her wearing the ring. She captions, "Diamonds Are Forever."
Of course, an heiress like Paris deserves an extraordinary ring, and that's exactly what she got: a ginormous pear-shaped sparkler with a 20-carat center stone set on a platinum split-shank halo band that features another two carats of smaller diamond. The cost: close to $2M!

Paris’ ring is so huge that a netizen tweeted in jest: “Paris Hilton’s engagement ring is bigger and brighter than my future.” Paris also tweeted about her engagement, using the "That's hot!" expression she popularized on her reality TV series The Simple Life with Nicole Richie: “I’m engaged That’s hot!!!”

Chris somehow got to fish that she loved her mother's pear-shaped diamond ring. And so, taking cue from that, he collaborated with diamond expert and celebrity jeweler Michael Greene of Greene & Co. who, according to People, "designed the ring in two days, a process that would normally take three weeks." In an exclusive interview with The Knot, Michael shares, “He’s seen Paris admiring her mother’s ring and trying it on at different times during dinner. And he just really watched the way she just loved that ring. That’s why we came up with the shape.” Well done, Chris! Wow, look at that bling!
Congratulations Chris Zylka & Paris Hilton on your engagement! It was a beautiful moment and truly an honor to help make your dreams come true. Hours after their engagement, the couple stepped out for a stroll and more adventure in the Aspen Mountain, with Paris wearing a shiny gold padded jacket, accessorized with reflective sunglasses. Clearly not minding the chilly weather, Paris wore fingerless gloves, to showcase her ring which, naturally, shines the brightest at this point.
Paris and Chris have been dating for two years. They made their relationship public in February 2017. Paris has had several relationships before, while Chris was engaged to model/designer Hanna Beth in April 2014 until they broke up in March 2015.
From the simple life to the married life—congrats, Paris!
