Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla
KathNiel is returning on the small screen after four years, and it’s via an upcoming rom-com series titled “2 Good 2 Be True.” Kathryn and Daniel’s last series was the horror-fantasy drama “La Luna Sangre” back in 2017. The two started shooting for their new series late last year. And this is the first big project they’re working on after celebrating their tenth anniversary as a loveteam in 2021, a milestone they marked with a special self-produced documentary titled “KathNiel: Isang Dekada.” A teaser was released for “2 Good 2 Be True” last December, and that distinct kilig only the KathNiel pairing can give just equates to overflowing chemistry. During the story conference, Kathryn said about the series, “It’s something light, just to give [viewers] a break and breather sa lahat ng nangyayari ngayon.” Interestingly, Kathryn and Daniel were also given the opportunity to have a say on their script here. “2 Good 2 Be True” is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar (who KathNiel previously worked with on films “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “Crazy Beautiful You”), and it’s produced by RGE Unit.

Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil
The pandemic, fueled by the non-renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise, led the production team to cancel LizQuen’s “Make It With You” series, which was shot in Croatia. The rom-com series’ release unfortunately coincided with the peak of the COVID-19 global health crisis; it started airing from January 13 to August 14, 2020. That marked Liza and Enrique's fourth TV series together, after “Forevermore,” “Dolce Amore” (which is one of the Top 10 shows on Netflix Philippines today), and “Bagani.” Although their fans couldn’t see the happily ever after of their characters Gabo (described as a “lost soul” trying to find his way around Croatia) and Billy (an overseas Filipino worker taking on odd jobs), they’re now in for treats as Liza and Enrique have upcoming projects they should look forward to: a series and a movie (titled "The Breakup Trip"). And we can’t wait to share more details about these projects.

Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte
Coming from their 2021 iWantTFC mini series “Unloving U,” Loisa and Ronnie (together known as LoiNie) are returning on the small screen with not just one but two series: “The Goodbye Girl” and “Love in 40 Days.” In “The Goodbye Girl,” Loisa is “The Clueless Girl” Mara, an actress who seems to have everything but can’t figure out why no one is willing to stay with her. Her ex-boyfriends have dumped her for no obvious reason一not even a third party一including her most recent one, Gab (Ronnie), a film-TV director. This iWantTFC series, produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and Clever Minds Inc., streams on February 14; it also stars Angelica Panganiban, Maris Racal, Elisse Joson, and Barbie Imperial. Loisa and Ronnie are also starring in the Dreamscape Entertainment series “Love in 40 Days,” to be released soon.

Maris Racal and Rico Blanco
The two first collaborated on Maris’ single “Abot Langit” in 2019. Other songs of Maris that they worked on together were “Not for Me” (2020), “Ate Sandali” (2021), and “Asa Naman” (2021). Maris is under Rico’s record label, Balcony Entertainment. Of their collaboration, Rico said in a MYX interview, “I give my artists this opportunity where I’m listening to their ideas, and I try to make them happen to the best of my abilities… Kay Maris, we’re in a relationship, but when it’s music, when it’s art, we talk sa level na ganoon. We’re always excited. It’s a great thing to have, when you work with the people you love. That’s a blessing.” Now, Maris and Rico are starring in a series together for the first time via a show that explores different kinds of heartbreaks, iWantTFC’s “The Goodbye Girl.” In the series, Maris is Ria, known as “The Bitter Hopia,” who seems to be getting mixed signals in her relationship with band member Caio (Rico); everything about them is casual一the sex, the friendship, the connection一but she keeps hoping for more. From making good music together, real-life couple Maris and Rico are now collaborating as actors, too一what a partnership!
