When the Jughead-Betty story arc started halfway in the first season of the hit teen drama series Riverdale, Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart’s on-screen chemistry was applauded by fans, and it created a whole fandom. Bughead (Betty-Jughead) shippers probably want nothing else in the world but for these two to finally end up together—in real life. And that dream might finally be coming true now.

The whole dating rumor started when Cole and Lili were photographed having a casual beach stroll in Hawaii last January.

But long before these photos came out, fans that were eager to stalk Lili's and Cole’s social media activities were convinced that something is going on between the two—starting off with photos of each other that they post in their respective Instagram accounts:

In several interviews and appearances, it was unavoidable for them to get asked about the real status of their relationship but they've remained silent about it.

When shooting for the second season of Riverdale wrapped up, Cole and Lili—along with their co-stars Camila Mendes (who plays Veronica) and KJ Apa (who plays Archie)—attended The Paley Fest in Los Angeles and it was there, during the panel, when the two were asked point-blank by a fan if they are, well, officially dating. Cole shut down a fan’s question with a short “no comment."

 

 

A week after, the two went to Paris for Rivercon (a French convention of the show), and they just made every Bughead's dream come true when they were photographed by the paparazzi kissing and holding hands in multiple spots around town.

Up until this point, Cole and Lili never confirmed their relationship. In an interview with ELLE magazine in April last year, Cole revealed that he has no plans of talking about his love life in public:

“I am one of those guys that's never ever going to talk about my private life with the public sphere. I mean people can talk about the Jughead as much as they want but when it comes to the personal relationships, I have spent much of my life separating work and play so I will continue to do so.”

Lili, on the other hand, shared the same sentiment in her blog:

It was clear that Cole and Lili would like to keep this matter private. But as far as Bughead and SprouseHart shippers are concerned, this romantic sighting in Paris is enough confirmation of the special relationship between the two.
