The plots of these K-dramas in the works sure are intriguing, but what's truly exciting is the lineup of new on-screen couples who might just make for an unforgettable tandem we'd remember for years and years to come.
It feels just like yesterday when we couldn't wait to see Song Joong-ki's small screen comeback via Vincenzo, starring alongside Jeon Yeo-been, or Ji Chang-wook's pairing with Kim Ji-won for web series Lovestruck in the City, or the perfect match that was Nam Joo-hyuk and Bae Suzy in Start-Up—and now, we're listing another set of fresh K-drama couples we're excited to gush about.

Jang Ki-Yong and Song Hye-Kyo
After 2018's "Encounter," Song Hye-kyo is confirmed to return to the small screen with new K-drama "Now, We Are Breaking Up." The series, which tackles love and breakups, is considered as another endearing noona romance (where the female lead is older than the male lead). In real life, this drama's male lead, Jang Ki-yong ("Born Again," "Kill It"), is 28 years old while Song Hye-kyo is 39 years old. Her character is a fashion label's design team manager while his is a famous and affluent freelance photographer.

Cha Eun-Woo and Seo Ye-Ji
Early this month, Cha Eun-woo, who's fresh from the success of his K-drama "True Beauty," made headlines for a possible project with "It's Okay to Not be Okay" actress Seo Ye-ji. He's been tapped as a lead actor in OCN's upcoming webtoon-based fantasy exorcism drama titled "Island," where he's said to take on the role of an exorcist priest who grew up in the US; the character has a bright personality but is hiding a dark past. Meanwhile, Seo Ye-ji's role is the daughter of a rich CEO; she's banished to a mysterious island and is being targeted by goblins.

Ahn Bo-Hyun and Kim Go-Eun
Kim Go-eun, who starred in "The King: Eternal Monarch" series last year, was previously confirmed for the upcoming drama "Yumi's Cells." The story centers on her character, Yumi, and is told from her point of view, emphasizing the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that go through her head. Just this month, Ahn Bo-hyun (who was seen as a villain in K-drama "Itaewon Class" last year) was reportedly offered to star opposite Kim Go-eun as a romantic, nonchalant guy who'll fall in love with Yumi.

Song Kang and Park Min-Young
Song Kang is on a roll! After starring in series "Sweet Home," "Love Alarm 2," and "Navillera," he was reportedly tapped for two more dramas. One of which was said to possibly be with Park Min-young, who was last seen in 2020 series "When the Weather is Fine." The upcoming JTBC drama is tentatively titled "Cruel Story of Office Romance." Their characters work at a weather forecast service company. Should Park Min-young accept the project, her role will be someone who's intelligent yet has a cold personality, while Song Kang is pegged to be a "clumsy and dumb" guy.

Song Kang and Han So-Hee
The other drama that Song Kang recently made headlines for is the upcoming romance drama "I Know But." He and actress Han So-hee, who starred in K-drama "The World of the Married" last year, are both confirmed for this webtoon-based series. Han So-hee's character is fond of dating but is not a believer of love, while Song Kang's character doesn't want to bother dating but is up for flirting.

Choi Woo-Shik and Kim Da-Mi
Choi Woo-shik ("Parasite") and Kim Da-mi ("Itaewon Classs") have been confirmed for the new romantic-comedy drama titled "Us That Year." This is the first original drama of Studio N, which produced popular webtoon-based dramas "Strangers from Hell" and "True Beauty." The story focuses on a young high school couple who broke up. But because a documentary they filmed together 10 years ago suddenly became popular, they're forced to reunite and look back on that time in their lives. This is Choi Woo-shik and Kim Da-mi's reunion project, as they both starred in the mystery action film "The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion" in 2018.

Rowoon and Park Eun-Bin
Rowoon, whose last K-drama is the recently-concluded "She Would Never Know," had just been confirmed for an upcoming KBS historical drama titled "Yeonmo." His leading lady was confirmed to be Park Eun-bin, star of 2020's "Do You Like Brahms?" Park Eun-bin takes on the role of a crown prince named Lee Hwi (yes, you read that right; she pretends to be a man and reaches that status when her twin brother dies). Rowoon is Lee Hwi's teacher, a handsome and optimistic guy who's the son of a government official.

Ahn Hyo-Seop and Jo Bo-Ah
Ahn Hyo-seop and Jo Bo-ah might just be the next K-drama couple that would delight viewers. The two are reportedly reviewing the offers to star in an upcoming webtoon-based rom-com drama titled "Office Blind Date." The story focuses on a female employee who ends up going on a blind date with her company's CEO while assuming the identity of her friend that paid her to go the said blind date in her place. Ahn Hyo-seop is also the star of the upcoming series "Red Sky," and he was last seen in "Dr. Romantic 2." Jo Bo-ah, on the other hand, had two K-dramas last year: "Forest" and "Tale of the Nine-Tailed."

Junho and Lee Se-Young
2PM's Junho just got discharged from the military a few days ago. Prior to enlisting, he starred in the 2019 series "Confession." Lee Se-young had a busy 2020, as she starred in three dramas: "How Are U Bread," "Memorist," and "Kairos." Following these projects, the two are said to be considered to star in a new historical drama titled "The Red Sleeve Cuff." The character that was offered to her is that of a royal noble consort, who rises to the highest rank among the women of the internal court. Junho may breathe life to the character of the next monarch, who's gearing up to become a great successor his grandfather envisions him to be. The lead roles here were initially offered to Kim Kyung-nam and Park Hye-soo.

Kim Min-Jae and Park Gyu-Young
Kim Min-jae is confirmed to star in the upcoming KBS 2TV drama "Dal Li and Gamja-tang." The series tells a love story between a man and a woman who has nothing in common, and is expected to show how opposites attract. His character is the director of a global food corporation that started out as a small-time restaurant. He meets the female lead character when he decides to purchase the art museum that previously belonged to her. He later falls in love with her. The female lead role has been offered to Park Gyu-young, who's also a cast member of the upcoming series "Devil Judge" and was seen in "It's Okay to Not be Okay" and "Sweet Home" last year. As for Kim Min-jae, he had two K-dramas last year, "Dr. Romantic 2" and "Do You Like Brahms?"

Kang Daniel and Chae Soo-Bin
First, it was Kang Daniel who was in talks for this upcoming drama titled "Our Police Course." Now, the series may have just found the right partner for him in Chae Soo-bin, who's currently reviewing this offer. The setting of the story is the Korean National Police University, and focuses on the college students attending it. The male lead, which Kang Daniel will bring to life, is the son of the Commissioner of the Gyeonggi Dongbu Police Agency. In the university, that's where he'll meet the female lead character. This is Kang Daniel's first lead role in a drama, while Chae Soo-bin became famous for her role in "I'm Not a Robot;" she was last seen in the K-drama "A Piece of Your Mind."

B1A4's Jinyoung and Krystal
These two K-pop idols/actors may just come together for a new KBS2 drama titled "Police Academy." f(x)'s Krystal, who last portrayed the role of a soldier in 2020 K-drama "Search," might just take on the role of a police officer next; the character offered to her is a freshman at the police academy who has always dreamt of pursuing this profession ever since she was a child. Should Jinyoung be confirmed for this project, he'll also play the role of a police academy student, with the story revolving around his journey in this prestigious institution. Jinyoung's last K-drama was 2019's "My First First Love."

Kim Seon-Ho and Shin Min-Ah
It was confirmed today, April 2, that Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah are starring in the upcoming rom-com drama titled "Seashore Village ChaChaCha." They were reported to be in talks for this drama remake of the film "Mr. Hong" last December. In this series, Shin Min-ah's role is a beautiful and smart dentist who travels to the seashore village of Gongjin. There, she meets Mr. Hong, the nickname of Kim Seon-ho's character, who's unemployed but is the go-to of the people in Gongjin whenever they need help. 36-year-old Shin Min-ah's last K-drama was 2019's "Chief of Staff," while 34-year-old Kim Seon-ho became extremely popular for his last series, "Start-Up."
