In Photos: Sarah Geronimo And Matteo Guidicelli Honeymooned In Palawan While Celebrating Her Birthday

It's a guessing game! Dr. Vicki Belo was the first to clue in fans on what was to be revealed about the couple. She captioned this Instagram post with a question, writing, "Can you guess which lower legs BELOng to whom? Answers to be posted later tonight... Hint: it’s [kinda] they’re long delayed honeymoon."

Fans of the couple who got wind Dr. Vicki's post over the weekend were drawn in even more when Matteo shared a photo of him and Sarah outdoors, somewhere not seemingly in Manila. The two were in resort-ready outfits, details that encouraged eagle-eyed netizens to do some detective work to figure out where they were.

Sure enough, the couple was on their way to a faraway destination and not only that; they were also in the company of good friends Doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho. Little Scarlet Snow was in tow, too!

A little more exploration on Instagram eventually gave Sarah and Matteo's inquisitive fans the answers they wanted. The couple was indeed vacationing outside Metro Manila, and Palawan was their destination of choice. Specifically, they were checked in at Amanpulo, a luxury retreat beloved by a high-end clientele.

Despite heading to the popular beach destination post-summer, Sarah and Matteo still got their fair share of time outdoors and in the sun.

Trips to Palawan are often highlighted by oceanside photos and a hundred and one bikini shots, but Sarah and Matteo chose to do differently. After visiting the beach, they headed over to a tree-planting reserve where they did exactly that—planted trees in their names!

The activity wasn't just a cute opportunity to couple up for the camera, but was a great way to help maintain Palawan's ecosystem, too. (They planted coconut trees, in case you were wondering!).

If you've followed Sarah and Matteo through the years, you'll know that photos from their "delayed honeymoon" are rare glimpses of their private lives away from the spotlight. They only make appearances on each other's Instagram accounts on extra special occasions, and even then, share only a tiny look at what goes on in their ultra private relationship.

The trip proved to be a double celebration; on one hand, it was a honeymoon, and on the other, it was a birthday celebration for Sarah, too. The singer celebrated her 32nd birthday on July 25. Matteo's one and only post from the trip was captioned by the sweetest message for his wife that read, "Happy birthday my lovely wife. I’m so proud of you. You deserve all the happiness and positivity that life has to offer. Whatever dreams you want to achieve, I’m here by your side. You are so beautiful. Happy birthday!"

Without a doubt, Sarah and Matteo's followers were head over heels after seeing scenes from the couple's short respite away from the city. Like many Kapamilya artists whose projects were interrupted by the COVID-19 crisis, Sarah and Matteo have both taken a break from work and turned to family life instead. They recently celebrated Matteo's sister's simple baby gender reveal party in their home.
