Sarah Lahbati & Richard Gutierrez Threw Baby Kai An Ocean Adventure-Themed Birthday Party
The Little Mermaid's Sebastian was totally right when he sang, "You dream about going up there, but that is a big mistake. Just look at the world around you—right here on the ocean floor! Such wonderful things surround you, what more is you lookin' for?"
Take it from proud parents Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez who transformed Makati events place Whitespace into a blue and purple underwater-themed extravaganza for their second son Kai's first birthday! It's a fitting theme because in Hawaiian, Kai means "sea."
The birthday bash held on June 17 was worth the wait (Kai's actual birthday was on March 21) as it gave his family all the time they needed to make it the best it could be and invite the special guests they wished to be there.
In particular, Sarah credited her mother-in-law, Annabelle Rama, for being the mastermind behind the perfect day and her long list suppliers for helping materialize her vision.
Most notably, NicePrint Photo was in the middle of the action to capture photos and videos, Party Station Philippines provided the awesome décor and props (whales and dolphins and seaside elements galore!), and Honey Glaze Cakes for Kai's multi-tiered birthday cake with a very cute gray whale topper.
There to celebrate with Sarah, Richard, and Kai's older brother, six-year-old Zion, were industry friends and their babies too, including Dingdong Dantes and Zia, Isabelle Daza and Balthazar, Mariel Padilla and Isabella, Isabel Oli and Feather, Pokwang and Malia, as well as Kapamilya stars Bea Alonzo, Gerald Anderson, and Coleen Garcia, and politicians Bong Go and Chavit Singson.
The Lahbati and Gutierrez clans were also in full force and showed support for the youngest member of their family.
Why the event was as star-studded and well-attended was also because it was a birthday and solemn baptism rolled into one; Kai had the pleasure of having 26 pairs of godparents commit to playing a part in this special time of his life.
While Kai was dressed in a fuss-free, all-white, toddler-friendly ensemble, Sarah stunned in her in-theme makeup that highlighted her flawless skin and captivating eyes (her splash of green eyeshadow and subdued lime green jumpsuit were winners!).
She captioned her Instagram post of her stylish OOTD with a funny note, saying that she had simply been pretending she was composed and level-headed all throughout the event, when, really, she was overwhelemed on the inside, just as any mom on their child's first birthday might be.
By the looks of it, Sarah managed to hide all hints of nervousness and got to enjoy the once-in-a lifetime event with no worries, and for Richard, it was the best way to celebrate a post-Father's Day Monday.
Now that they've reached this milestone, this couple can now look forward to an even bigger day: their wedding slated to take place sometime next year that will undoubtedly have both their sons play starring roles.
All in all, we'd love to see this family keep growing together!
