Justin Who? Selena Gomez Did The Most Meaningful Post-Break Up Activity Ever To Help Her Get Over Her Ex—While Possibly Striking Up A New Romance
Looking to be completely over her on-and-off again flame, Selena Gomez turned her attention to spreading love and joy to others who might need it most.
The 25-year-old spent her weekend at the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) to be part of one of the health center's most awaited events of the year—prom!
It's been years since the hospital established its oncology prom, which is essentially a dance that invites kids aged 14 to 19 years old who have either survived cancer, or are still receiving treatment. The hospital, as well as the event's organizers and sponsors, saw the importance of giving teenagers and young adults with life-threatening conditions the opportunity to experience one of adolescence’s most memorable milestones.
And with each year that CHOC has successfully staged prom (this year is its 16th edition), it keeps getting better. Celebrities now regularly make guest appearances (Chad Michael Murray showed up in a full-on prince costume last year as an homage to his role in A Cinderella Story), and foundations donate products or services to make the event extra special for its attendees.
This year, CHOC's patients were blown away not only by Selena who showed up in a stylish retro black and white polka dot dress, but also by comedian and actor Jack Black, and some of Grey's Anatomy's cast members including Caterina Scorsone, James Pickens Jr., Sarah Drew, and Kevin McKidd.
The famous lot mingled with excited patients who were also beautifully dressed; BCBG and Alice + Oliva provided dress fittings for the ladies and a team of hair and makeup artists were also present to glam them up, while gentlemen were treated by the Ryan Seacrest foundation to bow ties and skincare starter packs.
Dancing the night away to theme of "Around the World in One Night," the guests also enjoyed the venue whose different corners and nooks were decorated to mirror different parts of the world. With the addition of string lights to lend a soft glow to the room and a DJ to set the mood, this prom was nothing short of perfect.
Throughout the evening, Selena made herself available for photo opts, selfies, boomerangs, and all sorts of fun stuff that CHOC's patients wished to experience with her. Many of them shared how meaningful it was to have met the singer, as she is living proof of what each and every one of the prom's attendees is inspired by; Selena survived a kidney transplant last summer and continues to battle lupus, a potentially life-threatening disease that cannot yet be fully cured.
The starlet made waves last year as she revealed her struggles with the disease and inspired others addressing serious health concerns to be courageous and determined to overcome their conditions.
As guests at the prom enjoyed each other's company, eagle-eyed fans who browsed through photos from the evening noticed that Selena herself might have arrived with a date.
Many of her followers speculated that a man who appeared to be beside Selena in one photo (his face was unfortunately cropped in the shot) was none other than Andrea Iervolino, the 30-year-old Italian-Canadian producer who was with Selena and her friends as they vacationed in Italy just days ago.

The two were rumored to have struck up a romance while abroad, and that Selena is, at the moment, totally over her infamous ex-boyfriend (who just made his rumored rekindled romance with Hailey Baldwin Instagram official) and ready to move on to her next love while continuing to make the world a better place.
