All The Times Son Ye-Jin Was Recognized At The Baeksang Arts Awards
"The Queen of Melodrama" is truly one talented actress!
Korean actress Son Ye-jin is nominated at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards (BAA) as Best Actress for the K-Drama Crash Landing on You (CLOY). Her CLOY leading man Hyun Bin is nominated as Best Actor for the same series, too! And together, they topped the event's "Official Fan Vote with TikTok" for the event, with her garnering 1,659,330 votes and him earning 1,517,925 votes.
The "Queen of Melodrama" is an award-winning actress, and this latest BAA nomination is just further proof of her talent and versatility in acting. This isn't the first time actually that Son Ye-jin was nominated for Best Actress at the BAA.

"The Classic"
At the 39th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2003, she won the Best New Actress award for the film "The Classic," which tells the parallel stories of a mother and a daughter, both portrayed by Son Ye-jin.
"Alone in Love"
At the 43rd Baeksang Arts Awards in 2007, she won the Best Actress award (TV) for this series. The character of Son Ye-jin gets married to the character of Kam Woo-sung. However, they end up getting divorced. Even after their divorce, they still meet every now and then, so they wonder if they still have feelings for each other.
"My Wife Got Married"
At the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2009, Son Ye-jin won the Best Actress award for the film "My Wife Got Married." Here, her character gets married to a former colleague, but just when their honeymoon period isn't over yet, she tells him she's marrying another man.
InStyle award
At the 46th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2010, Son Ye-jin received the InStyle magazine award for her stunning look. The previous year, in 2009, she starred in the film "White Night."
"Spellbound"
At the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2012, she was nominated as Best Actress for the film "Spellbound." Here, her character sees the dead after surviving a car accident when she was in high school. Because of this, she has led a miserable life because one particular vengeful ghost scares people around her.
"The Pirates"
At the 51st Baeksang Arts Awards in 2015, Son Ye-jin was nominated as Best Actress for the film "The Pirates." Here, she plays the role of a captain who finds herself in a battle with mountain bandits who, like her, are also after the Ming Emperor's Seal of State, which was swallowed by a whale.
"The Last Princess"
At the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards in 2017, Son Ye-jin won the Best Actress for the film "The Last Princess." Here, she is Princess Deokhye, the last princess of the Joseon Dynasty in the time of Korea ruled by Japan. She is forced to go to Japan, and attempts to go back to her homeland. She fails to do so. She is forced to marry a man, and after giving birth, she develops schizophrenia and ends up in a mental hospital in Japan. After persuading the South Korean government, she's finally able to return to her homeland.
"Be With You"
At the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2018, she was nominated as Best Actress for the film "Be With You." Her character passes away, leaving her husband and her son. Before passing away, she promises her husband that she'll return on a rainy day one year later. She keeps her promise, but she returns to her family not remembering anything.
"Crash Landing on You"
At the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards this year, Son Ye-jin is nominated as Best Actress for the drama "Crash Landing on You," wherein she plays the role of a South Korean heiress who crash-lands in North Korea and falls in love with a North Korean military man.
