In Photos: Song Joong-Ki And His Leading Ladies Through The Years
Here's a look back at the Korean actresses this in-demand Hallyu star was paired with
Song Joong-ki's fans must be so thrilled, as this top Korean actor is not only back with a film but a series as well this year: space opera film Space Sweepers and black comedy series Vincenzo.
The 35-year-old actor was last seen in K-drama Arthdal Chronicles, which ended in September 2019. News about a season 2 for the said series made headlines in early 2020, but its production was said to have been postponed due to COVID-19. Good thing, not long after that news, in August last year, Song Joong-ki was confirmed to take on the lead role for tvN's Vincenzo with Jeon Yeo-bin and Taecyeon.

Of course, like many of his fans, we're still hoping to see the mythical land of Arth and Song Joong-ki as Eun-seom / Saya. But, in the meantime, his role in Vincenzo is likely to please, impress, and leave viewers satisfied (and maybe even wanting more). It's nothing like the previous ones he's worked on.
In K-dramas, he's portrayed a second-year resident (OB & GY), an upperclassman in the Joseon era (Sungkyunkwan Scandal), a bartender/gigolo (The Innocent Man), the captain of an elite special forces team (Descendants of the Sun), and a dual character of identical twin warriors (Arthdal Chronicles). In his new series set to premiere on February 20, his character is an Italian lawyer and mafia consigliere who appears to be a cold-hearted, dark hero.
While we excitedly wait for Vincenzo, you can get your Song Joong-ki fix on Netflix today, February 5, via the space opera film Space Sweepers. In the futuristic film set in 2092, he's a genius pilot who'll do anything for money, and is chasing after space debris for a living.
