Sophia Laforteza Ranked First in Final Mission of “The Debut: Dream Academy”
The Filipina hopeful just earned her spot in the show’s finale!
HYBE x Geffen Records’ audition program The Debut: Dream Academy finally unveiled its roster of finalists who will battle it out on the global group search competition’s upcoming finale. This November 17, 2023, ten aspirants will compete to be a member of the final girl ensemble and Sophia Laforteza, the lone Filipino talent who made it to the show, was among the chosen few who will raise their country’s flag.
After ranking first in the third and final mission of the contest and garnering the highest number of votes, Sophia received immunity from elimination. In the last challenge, the Dream Academy competitors were tasked to showcase their talent through a uniquely-ideated performance. The teams sang and danced to the tune of Spice Girls’ “Wannabe,” The Pussycat Dolls’ “Buttons,” and Demi Lovato’s “Confident.”
Alongside Sophia, the nine other idol hopefuls who made it to Top 10 are Daniela Avanzini, Lara Rajagopalan, Megan Skiendiel, and Emily Kelavos of USA; Manon Bannerman of Switzerland; Ezrela Abraham of Australia; Samara Siqueira of Brazil; Marquise Auramornrat of Thailand; and Jeong Yoon Chae of South Korea. The remaining contenders will advance to the live finale and the group’s ultimate members will be revealed by then.
Congratulations, Sophia!
