It was a day of glitz and glamour. As part of Star Magic’s year-long 25th anniversary celebration, all the biggest stars aligned to form the brightest celebrity constellation for the grand launch of ABS-CBN Publishing’s highly-anticipated legacy project, the Star Magic coffee table book, last Sunday at Restaurant 9501 in Quezon City.
The first of its kind in the industry, the Star Magic coffee table book features 12 chapters filled with stunning photographs of the Star Magic artists as well as some of the artists' mostly unknown behind-the-scenes stories of successes and struggles and how Star Magic became the premier talent management people know, love, and trust today.
Celebrities who were present at the book launch were Piolo Pascual, Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Shaina Magdayao, Arci Muñoz, Jake Cuenca, Gerald Anderson, Jed Madela, Darren Espanto, Lindsay Custodio, Ritz Azul, Vin Abrenica, Robi Domingo, Sue Ramirez, Arjo Atayde, Antoinette Taus, Desiree del Valle, Nikki Valdez, Ylona Garcia, Inigo Pascual, Maris Racal, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, Diego Loyzaga, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, Yeng Constantino, Elisse Joson, McCoy de Leon, Joshua Garcia, Julia Barretto, Jessy Mendiola, Dimples Romana, Elmo Magalona, Janella Salvador, and Rayver Cruz.
Of course, Star Magic's Johnny Manahan and Mariole Alberto graced the event alongside ABS-CBN Publishing bosses - President Ernie Lopez, Managing Director Mark Yambot, and Editorial Content Head Chris Lopez.
Metro.Style caught up with Star Magic artists Ylona Garcia, Maris Racal, Inigo Pascual, and Elisse Joson at the uber star-studded launch, and we asked them to recall their most unforgettable moments as part of the Star Magic family. They all agree that the Star Magic Ball, the most anticipated showbiz and fashion event in the country, has got to be one of their favorites.
Ylona Garcia shares, “I think my Star Magic moment was every single Star Magic Ball. It’s the time when people really get to relax, let loose, and have fun. The artists work every single day, and it is not as easy as other people really think. So when it is the Star Magic Ball and people get glammed up, it is a day when people can feel good about themselves, feel beautiful, and that for me is the Star Magic moment.”
Maris Racal and Inigo Pascual (their loveteam is known as MarNigo) said that every moment they spend with their Star Magic family is a moment worth treasuring, and that the best thing about being part of Star Magic is, as Maris says, “knowing that your family is there for you when you have a problem—the support from handlers and RMs.” Inigo adds, “Every time we get to hangout with them, the people in the family. Especially the Star Magic Ball, because we get to see and meet a lot of new and old faces, it is special.”
Elisse Joson, on the other hand, says, “My Star Magic moment was when I was first invited to the Star Magic Ball, that’s when I felt that I really am part of the Star Magic family.”
