"Stop Right Now!" The Spice Girls Could Perform At Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Wedding
It's official, and 90s kids across the globe are losing their minds. All five of the Spice Girls have been invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's wedding, and it could be the reunion their fans have been waiting for all these years!
The news that Sporty Spice, Scary Spice, Ginger Spice, Baby Spice, and Posh Spice will be in complete attendance at the royal wedding of the year was shared by none other than Mel B during an interview with The Real.
When asked by Loni Love, one of the show's co-hosts, if Mel B knew guests attending the wedding, the popstar shyly offered a nod and revealed that she has, indeed, received an official invitation and will be going. Being Spice Girls fans themselves, The Real hosts voiced out the only question left to ask after Mel B's revelation: will the Spice Girls be performing at the reception?
The potential for a Spice Girls performance — the first that they will have in many years — is huge given that the newlyweds-to-be are big fans of the British girl group themselves. Meghan has shared that she listened to them constantly while growing up in the 90s as a teenager, while the Prince was ecstatic to have met them in 1997 at a benefit concert in South Africa.
To add to that, the royal couple is also rumored to have invited other British singing sensations to their wedding, like Ed Sheeran, Sir Elton John, and Adele who are all likely to perform at the party. The Spice Girls will surely make a fantastic addition to their reception's entertainment lineup, should they perform.
In response to the on-the-spot question that Spice Girls fans were longing to have answered, Mel B simply threw her script notecards in the air and playfully said, "I need to go, I'm going to be fired." The audience, of course, was in hysterics and unable to keep the shouts and screams in.
It's a cryptic answer that's definitely keeping us at the edge of our seats!
None of the other Spice Girls have commented, so it looks like we'll just have to sit tight and wait for more details about the (possible) pop performance of the year to surface. For now, we'll be ready with our platform heels, glitter makeup, and leopard print pants to wear on the day of the May 19 wedding that's just a couple of months away.
We're counting on you, Spice Girls!
