The Style Rule That Korean Actor Nam Joo-hyuk Lives By Is A Great Reminder That Can Help You Avoid A Fashion Faux Pas

Last Sunday, Korean actor Nam Joo-hyuk was in the Philippines for a fan conference with clothing brand Penshoppe. It was his second time in the country, the first one being back in September last year, where he had his “Private Stage [Close-Up]” event.

Initially a model, who made his debut via SONGZIO Homme Spring/Summer 2014 collection, he later crossed over to acting via a supporting role in the TV drama The Idle Mermaid. He has since starred in several more TV dramas, including Who Are You: School 2015, Glamorous Temptation, Cheese in the Trap, and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. But what really made Joo-hyuk popular was Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, where he was paired with Korean actress Lee Sung-kyung with whom he was in a brief romantic relationship.

Tall, fit, and definitely handsome, this 24-year-old has been quite a favorite model of international magazines. He was featured in the likes of Elle Korea, L’Officiel Hommes, Ceci, Grazia, Dazed, Singles, and Harper’s Bazaar China.

Given the way he carries clothes with a high street-style “swag,” it’s no surprise he caught the attention of Penshoppe, a hip brand he’s been endorsing since late last year.

For his press conference alongside his fellow Penshoppe endorser, K-Pop star Sandara Park, Joo-hyuk sported a clean, sleek and fresh look. He wore a pastel blue and white striped button-down with a white inner top, denim pants, and white sneakers. Aside from sweaters or pullovers worn with denims, he also seems to favor layering shirts with button-downs.

During the Q&A portion at the press con, Metro.Style asked Joo-yuk about one fashion rule he lives by that other guys can take cues from as well. It’s not about wearing clothes with confidence or investing in certain key pieces, but his witty and quite funny answer is something we can all use as a reminder before stepping out of the house.

MYX VJ Sunny interpreted his answer, saying, “I asked him what fashion rule he lives by, he said, just to double check everything. Kung baliktad ba daw ang suot n’ya or may kulang ba daw, na hindi n’ya nasuot.” Having this much attention to detail can totally save us all from a potential fashion faux pas.  As a follow-up, he told MYX VJ Sunny that his top must-have fashion item is a plain white shirt.
