See How Son Ye-Jin's Pinoy Fans Celebrated Her Birthday

It's larger than life!

Hallyu queen Son Ye-jin celebrated her birthday yesterday, January 11; she turned 39. Her celebration this year, we can just imagine, was extra special, as she and her fellow Korean superstar Hyun Bin recently confirmed their relationship, turning the BinJin dream into reality.

Son Ye-jin has been acting for more than two decades, allowing her to amass a huge following. In the Philippines, her popularity skyrocketed last year during the pandemic, when many Filipino fans discovered her through the well-loved K-drama Crash Landing on You. Of course, there are Pinoy fans as well who have witnessed Son Ye-jin's journey for years, and they're now more than happy to welcome new fans to their club.

Fans of the actress in different parts of the world celebrated her birthday yesterday with the hashtag #HappyYejinDay, and Simply Yejin Philippines made sure they'd go big for their gifts for her. They expressed their love, support, and admiration for Son Ye-jin by placing an ad on SM Mall of Asia's globamaze; they worked on this for three months, and it finally went up yesterday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. They also sent Son Ye-jin a bunch of gifts that include a cake, a plant, a UNICEF Philippines certificate with a donation made under her name and Hyun Bin, handwritten letters, portraits, a photobook, a crochet coaster, Filipino delicacies (piyaya and polvoron), the traditional Filipino game sungka, and a "Captain" shirt. Hey, their Instagram post about these gifts was liked by Son Ye-jin (@yejinhand) herself!
