Speculations surrounded Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque’s relationship, and rumors started to surface that the two have called it quits and called off their wedding. Theories and false accusations were floated, too, tampering the images and reputations of the involved.

On Sunday, February 11, the pair finally posted a statement on their split to crush the “cruel” and “hurtful” comments being constantly hurled onto them. In the official announcement, Bea and Dominic confirmed “amicably” ending their engagement after much deliberation, mutually agreeing on the decision.

“We wanted to have more time to carefully deliberate and pray about it, but there have been many speculations, questions, and insults,” the declaration reads. “Unfortunately, some even confirmed our break-up without our consent.”

A few days following the rumored separation, talk show personality Boy Abunda broke to the public that Bea and Dominic have been trying to patch things up in private. “Ako’y nalungkot ho talaga dahil madalas, ’pag nagkikita kami ni Bea ay nagkakakuwentuhan ho kami tungkol sa buhay, tungkol sa kanila, their marriage plans, et cetera,” he said.

“I was shocked. Tama si Ogie Diaz po—si kaibigang Ogie—noong kaniyang binalita na hiwalay na [sila],” the King of Talk added. “Sinusuyo ba si Bea and they’re still trying to talk? Siguro. Maaari, dahil sino ba naman ang ayaw maayos ang ganitong klase ng problema?”

To the surprise of many, however, Bea and Dominic have already made a decision, having felt the need to share the news for the sake of their family and friends. As told in the Instagram post, people have been circulating baseless claims, hence worsening the hate: “Some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false.”

To avoid further issues, Bea and Dominic also appealed for them to be treated with consideration, requesting compassion as they move towards their individual tracks. “Please understand that this is an extremely painful yet united decision.”

“We sincerely request for everyone to kindly spare us from more cruel and very hurtful words thrown on social media. We kindly request to give us the privacy we need as we navigate our future lives with respect, kindness, compassion, and dignity. Thank you for your understanding and support,” the message concludes.

Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque were considering marriage this 2024, though the date of the wedding wasn't revealed. In July of last year, Dominic and Bea got engaged.
