Tim Yap's Lava Red Birthday Bash Set The Bar For 2019's Hottest Celebrations
This birthday boy was red hot with passion for another year of life ahead in his birthday party!
At the stroke of midnight, I was serendipitously seated beside a priest, and I asked him for a blessing. My friends were all greeting me and Father was there praying over me—all I heard were the words “ikauunlad at ikabubuti (for progress and the good) but i felt the Spirit, the energy from his hands into my heart. Birthdays are personal new years and thank you Lord, for this new start surrounded by people who I love and who love me. Grateful, above and beyond. #TimYapNext
Celebrating with industry partners, friends, and family, Metro Channel host Tim Yap made sure that his birthday party held at Common Ground would be an occasion all would remember. After all, when it comes to events hosted and organized by Tim, everyone expects to be wowed—and he never disappoints.
Explaining the idea behind this year's bash, Tim says, "The concept behind the party was 'Lava Red,' after Catriona [Gray]’s lava walk. There’s patriotism behind it. Also, to best welcome the year of the Earth Pig, the energies that needed to be activated for the year was fire, so what better way to do it than to throw the hottest party to start the season. To inspire passions to last throughout the year."
And inspiring passion for life and everything worth living it surely did.
With Tim's closest circle gathered in one place enjoying speeches, performances, giveaways, lovely company, and delicious sips and bites—including seven lechons from Elarz and booze from Belvedere, Moet Hennessy, Remy Martin, Cuervo, 1880, Cointreau, Gypsy Rose, and Ralph’s Wines!—and giveaway goodies like Elarz canned lechon, Caramba hot sauce, VICE Cosmetics lipsticks, Close Up Red, and tinted sunblock from Belo, the evening was without a dull moment.
Notable personalities spotted at the A-list affair were Dr. Vicki Belo who was Tim's co-host, Issa Pressman, Gab Valenciano, Bubbles Paraiso, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Pia Campos, and Jenni Epperson among many others, all of whom were of course dressed to the nines in their flaming hot outfits.
"Everything about the party revolved around 'hot.' Yaparazzi Events converted Common Ground, a co-working space, into a lava red venue. Javi was on top of it and put all the elements together along with Barbie Pardo-Tiangco and Tess Villareal. Mia Cabawatan-Lazada of Bloomwoods made a giant flame floral installation for the photo wall, and I flew in DJs from all over for the music," Tim adds, name-dropping the best in the industry for those who wish to celebrate their special days in a fashion as grand as he did.
The birthday was of course Tim's second one as a married man, and made the fact that his husband helped pull it together in less than a week all the more special and touching.
Yet underneath all the pizzaz, Tim acknowldges that this birthday and the year it ushered in signals a more mature, more assertive chapter for him. He reveals that more is definitely in store in terms of the personal and professional investments and expansions we can expect from him.
"Aside from Tim’s Table, my Metro Channel show, and my current ventures in hospitality and nightlife, I am working on new adventures in tech, media, e-commerce, and real estate. I want to invest in the future, and the best way to do it is to start now. Aside from all of that, I also want to savor life more, take things one day at a time and travel to more places and spend more time with my animals at home," Tim shares.
His parties, as they seem, are never just parties; they're his vision board for the next 12 months to come, his constant reminder of what first excited him about a fresh start—a great idea for everyone to pick up when they think about what turning a year older should really mean!
"My outlook for the year is all about putting more passion into my life. We can always add more of that, plus positivity to make things better. I want more breakthroughs and to go into the next phase of my career and I manifest that through my birthday parties. My parties serve as my vision board for the next chapter. Thus the hashtag #TimYapNext," he concludes.
