'Legends, icons, and freaks' gathered at this circus-themed Halloween spectacle

<p>Eventologist <strong>Tim Yap</strong> has made it a tradition for October 30 to be a talked-about day every year with his &#x27;<strong>Shake, Rattle &amp; Ball</strong>&#x27; Halloween party. This year, he was inspired by icons, freaks, and legends and reimagined them in an awe-inspiring circus setting. His Halloween spectacle was dubbed &#x27;<strong>CIRQUE</strong>,&#x27; and what a show the attendees put on with their well-thought-out and elaborate costumes.  </p><div><br/></div><p>Tim Yap&#x27;s &#x27;Shake, Rattle, &amp; Ball 2024 Presents CIRQUE&#x27; happened at Space in One Ayala, Makati City. The venue was transformed with a large-scale carousel centerpiece and floor-to-ceiling LEDs. Tim&#x27;s Yaparazzi Events team described Cirque as &#x27;a carnival of creativity, featuring a dazzling fusion of artistic expression, Filipino culture, and the spirit of Halloween.&#x27; </p><div><br/></div><p>Tim, of course, was on point with the theme, dressed up as <strong>Kokey</strong>, the iconic extraterrestrial being from the 1997 Filipino sci-fi film of the same name. Among the winners were <strong>Tita Baby</strong>, <strong>Janeena Chan</strong>, <strong>Chloe San Jose</strong>, and <strong>Carlos Yulo</strong>, who took home special awards for their jaw-dropping outfits!</p><div><br/></div><p>For the event&#x27;s official invite, Tim tapped Filipino artist <strong>Saiz</strong> to interpret the Halloween theme for the year, and the signature childlike presence in his work was a seamless fit. The guests arrived dressed to the nines, showcasing their versions of legendary figures and characters spanning different eras, periods, and universes. We saw iterations of Pennywise, Joker, Harley Quinn, Cleopatra, Marilyn Monroe, Elphaba from <em>Wicked</em>, Beetlejuice, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Barbie &amp; Ken.
