Listen To "Tinig Ng Mga Nawalan," KathNiel's Tribute To ABS-CBN's Employees And All Filipinos
As many of ABS-CBN's 11,000 employees bid a farewell to the network on Monday, August 31, the song was launched to send a message of continued hope and a passion to keep serving the Filipino
Seven weeks after Congress denied ABS-CBN of its franchise on July 10, many of the network's 11,000 employees went to work for the last time. August 31 marked the finish line for them as the company-wide retrenchment took effect.
It's a difficult time for everyone involved directly and indirectly; employees and the families they support, ABS-CBN's executives, and the audiences they served feel the collective loss and grief of the event, all the while battling the stresses caused by the ongoing health crisis.
It's a time when a light, however small and faint, can shine bright in the darkness. And there to shine this light is none other than Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel) who teamed up to perform a song dedicated not only to their fellow Kapamilyas most affected by these circumstances, but to all Filipinos in need of comfort during this time.
Titled "Tinig ng mga Nawalan," the song launches ABS-CBN's “Lingkod ng Isa’t Isa" campaign.
The campaign is dedicated to celebrating "the grit, tenacity, and resilience of every Filipino" when faced with life's most difficult moments, and most especially how they become each other's strength in these times.
Making the tribute even more touching is the fact that it was produced by the network's Creative Communications Management (CCM), a subsidiary that was dissolved entirely due to the network shutdown and led by Robert Labayen and Johnny delos Santos. "Tinig ng mga Nawalan" was written by Thyro Alfaro while Labayen and Des Parawan wrote its lyrics. Paolo Ramos and Lloyd Oliver Corpuz served as its director and music and sound head, respectively.
In the music video, other Kapamilya personalities joined Kathryn and Daniel, including artists Coco Martin, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano, Bea Alonzo, Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros, Jericho Rosales, Beauty Gonzalez, Bianca Gonzalez, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Jake Cuenca, Kylie Verzosa, Edward Barber and Alex Gonzaga, as well as journalists Bernadette Sembrano, Zen Hernandez, Alvin Elchico, Jeff Canoy, Chiara Zambrano, and Jacque Manabat.
Clocking in at just over five minutes, the music video of "Tinig ng Mga Nawalan" features vocals from Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel) and other participating singers, plus a mix of visuals and testimonies. Ordinary Filipinos, medical front liners, and ABS-CBN employees are also featured amidst scenes depicting the effects of the pandemic and the network shutdown.
It has since gained almost 20,000 views since premiering after TV Patrol's August 31 airing.

"Ipadinig ang tinig
Ng mga nawalan
Ipandinig ang tinig
Ng sikmurang kumakalam
Ipadinig ang iyak
Ng bawat magulang at anakIpadinig at tandaan
May ala-ala ang kasaysayan..."
