"Variety" Names Bea Alonzo As One Of The Asian Stars Set For International Stardom
The Filipina actress shares the list with South Korea's Lim Yoon-a, India's Bhumi Pedneka, and Japan's Ryota Katayose. She will represent the Philippines in Macao this December
We’ve seen how Unbreakable star Bea Alonzo has made a name for herself in the local industry, and with her exceptional talent in acting, it’s no wonder how it has taken her to greater heights. Now, she is named as one of Variety and International Film Festival & Awards Macao’s "Asian Stars: Up Next".
The list, presented by Variety and the International Film Festival & Awards Macao (IFFAM), gathers talented Asian celebrities who are achieving amazing feats in their home countries. But this recognition cements their potential for global stardom. Variety says, "What these awards seek is to help Asia’s talent cross borders onto an international or global stage."
In her Instagram post, to accept this award, Bea shared that she will be representing the Philippines in Macao this December.

Bea shares the list with the likes of Japan's Ryota Katayose, Thailand's Praewa Suthamphong and Jennis Oprasert, South Korea's Yoon-a, Vietnam's Lien Binh Phat, Indonesia's Asmara Abigail, and India's Bhumi Pednekar.
Bea biggest feats that were highlighted in her profile feature on Variety include her acting debut in 2003 on My First Romance to the recognition she has received such as Best Actress at the 34th Luna Awards and Movie Actress for the Year at the 32nd PMPC Star Awards for Movies back in 2016.
The American publication, with International Film Festival & Awards Macao, comes up with the list every year to put the spotlight on Asians showing great potential to excel further in the entertainment industry.
