Vhong, Ogie, and JC Express Gratitude to ABS-CBN

The recent contract signing event of of Vhong Navarro, Ogie Alcasid, and JC de Vera was memorable for them because it marked their new journey as Kapamilya stars. The event dubbed “#GoodJob: The Showtime Kapamilya Contract Signing 2022” was broadcast live on March 23 on It’s Showtime’s Facebook page and ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube page. 

Present during the event were ABS-CBN group chief financial officer Rick Tan, ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, ABS-CBN chief operating officer of broadcast Cory Vidanes, and  ABS-CBN entertainment production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi. The event was hosted by Darla Sauler. 

To kick off the event, "Tawag ng Tanghalan" champions JM Yosures, Reiven Umali, and Janine Berdin performed onstage, with songs like Journey’s "Don’t Stop Believing."

Vhong has been hosting It's Showtime since 2009. Apart from this, he gained popularity with his smooth dance moves as well as acting chops in movies like Mr. Suave (2004), Gagamboy (2004), Agent X44 (2007), My Only U (2008), and Da Possessed (2014).

“Hindi ako bibitaw hanggang pinagtitiwalaan ako ng ating mga boss. Dahil nandun sila sa likod ko, lumalakas ng loob ko,” Vhong shares. “Of course, hindi lang sa ating mga boss. Of course, kay God, kaya patuloy ako good job, at patuloy na magpapasaya para sa ating madlang people.”

On the other hand, JC has been hosting It's Showtime since 2013. This opportunity was accompanied by various roles in series likeThe Legal Wife (2014), The Better Half (2017), Since I Found You (2018), The General’s Daughter (2019), and La Vida Lena (2020).

“Mag-iisang dekada na ako sa ABS. 9 years. 2013 nung unang apak ko sa ABS-CBN. Ang masasabi ko lang, very fulfilling siya. Why? Kasi naging actor ako. ’Yun talaga ’yung pinakamasarap sa pakiramdam ng artist, ’yung matawag siya na isang actor. At sa sobrang daming challenges na binigay sa’kin ng ABS-CBN, natawag ko na ang sarili ko na versatile actor,” JC says.

Finally, Ogie has been serenading the country for decades. With his move to ABS-CBN, his regular gigs on It's Showtime and ASAP Natin 'To followed. He also served as a judge on singing and impersonation competition Your Face Sounds Familiar. His wife, Regine Velasquez, also recently renewed her contract with the Kapamilya network.

“I was given a chance again to do what I love to do… and that is to sing every Sunday, to perform every Sunday, and to make people laugh every single day. That gives me so much joy… at natutuwa ako na ang dami-daming Kapamilya pa rin, at parami nang parami pa rin,” Ogie shares.
