WATCH: Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar Believes There's No Harm In Trying Again

It took Jehza Huelar unbelievable strength and courage to enter Bb. Pilipinas again for the third time—but in the end, it was all worth it.

Here are some personal anecdotes from this year’s Bb. Pilipinas Supranational about the sign that she received that enabled her to give the pageant another try; she also talks about what changed in her life ever since.

On receiving that sign to join Bb. Pilipinas again: "I felt like I was happy, I was contented with my life. [So when PJ asked], 'Do you wanna join?' I said, 'Depende, ’pag nagising ako tomorrow (the last day of filing for application to join), kung feel ko.' Kung will ni Lord na mag-apply ako, gigisingin niya ako ng maaga. Sign niya ’yun. Nagising ako ng 7 a.m. Eto na siguro ’yun. Kahit na naramdaman ko na okay na talaga ako, na wala na akong kailangang i-prove, naisip ko rin na ayokong mag-regret. One thing that I learned from my past is regretting the things I didn’t do. I was praying when I woke up."

On insecurities: "Being back in the pageant, one of the hardest things is being insecure. You try to compare yourself with others, which is hindi dapat. There’s a struggle inside you na naiisip mo na there’s a lot of beautiful girls na nakikita mo, and you think, 'Ay baka I can’t make it to the top.' The doubt, the failure that you have in your mind, when it hits you, it starts dragging you down."

On overcoming negativity: "When you’re already content with what you have in life, and when you have faith in God, everything will fall into place. True and deep happiness can only be found with Him."

On beauty: "I maintain my skin by making sure I drink eight glasses of water or more. Every morning, I always drink fruit juice."

On fashion: "Naaalala ko sarili ko before, I was kind of boyish, so rubber shoes, pants, t-shirt, and jacket. That’s fashion for me before! Now, nakita ko na you can try different colors and styles. Andami palang p'wedeng i-mix and match. So now, whenever I go out in public, I have to be in makeup and wear respectable clothes. [As a beauty queen,] I try to be glamorous but elegant."
