Charisse Tinio Launches Five New Businesses Under Quarantine—Her Entrepreneurial Mindset Will Inspire You

As a woman who has a "won't stop, can't stop" approach to chasing opportunity, she shows us what it truly means to take advantage of the gift of time

There's no feeling in the world quite like getting your passion project off the ground and sharing it with the world. And for entrepreneur Charisse Tinio, she's managed to do this not just once, but several times!

She's mostly known as a queen of the events scene, thanks to her photo company NicePrint Photo that's become a top choice for special occasions, locally and even internationally. It was Charisse's love for capturing memories—and turning them into physical mementos—that transformed a personal hobby into what is now a standard-setting enterprise.

With the pandemic, Charisse was inspired to pivot and conquer other industries. One is something we can sink our teeth into! Having enjoyed cooking up feasts for friends and family for years, Charisse took the opportunity to sow another entrepreneurial seed and grow it under quarantine. The result? This longtime behind-the-scenes cooking maven is now sharing the best of her kitchen creations with three new food business, all of which give people a chance to enjoy her original recipes! She has two other brands which are truly relevant today: a wall accent brand perfect for adding personal touches to your décor at home and a line of disinfecting products to keep people safer from COVID-19.

These businesses give a glimpse into how Charisse pivoted during such a challenging time, and made the most of this period under quarantine:

Prepd.PH

If there's anything we've all seen a lot of in the last few months, it's that many of Manila's enterprising minds have been putting their talents together to collab for unique projects! Charisse is one of these minds and with the help of friends from The Old Spaghetti House, Melt Grilled Cheesery, and the Center for Culinary Arts, she launched a little something called Prepd.PH, a quarantine-friendly way for entire households to enjoy delicious food.

"No restaurants, no problem" is the best way to describe this business, but there's a spin to it; Prepd.PH doesn't deliver ready-to-eat food, but rather, food tray kits that come stocked with ingredients, pre-cut and pre-measured, plus instructions for cooking and preparation.

The best way to enjoy food is newly cooked, after all. And besides, for Filipino families, eating food is only one half of the fun; preparing a meal together makes food taste all the more delicious.

Mrs. Herbs PH

Cooking and gardening—they're two of the home-based hobbies that have seen a surge in popularity in the last few months. In particular, Charisse saw a creative way to bridge the two: encourage homeowners of every kind to grow a garden, however small, that cultivates edible herbs to use in the kitchen!

Enter Mrs. Herbs PH, a potted herbs and veggie business that's designed for every kind of homeowner. Whether you live in a studio unit, family home, or apartment, Mrs. Herbs PH has something that'll appeal to you. Remember that plants aren't only decorative; they can nourish and feed, add flavor, and give you a chance to nourish life!

And now, for an indulgence! What kind of Filipino isn't into ensaymadas? With the holidays fast approaching, Charisse's first food venture, Cremosa PH, is bound to have its freshly baked breads flying off the shelves. Cremosa PH is all about giving you the most scrumptious, creamiest, most buttery bites of fluffy, doughy ube and cheese ensaymada any time of the day. The Wallery PH

Aside her three new food businesses, there's a fourth business from Charisse to check out and it takes her back to her roots in photography and events.

Essentially a photo framing business that touches on many a family's desire to redecorate and breathe new life into their homes during this time, The Wallery PH is an easy peasy way to preserve memories. The idea is to choose a number of photos to turn into a wall gallery; clients go to The Wallery website, share the photos they wish to be framed, make enhancements, and sit tight for less than a week before their framed memories arrive at their doorstep.

Think of it as a way to keep happiness and hope alive during these trying times.

Speedster PH

As if four new businesses launched in six months wasn't impressive enough, Charisse also stepped in to fill in Filipinos' need to be safe from the risk of COVID-19.

It's why Speedster PH is here, and it's a one-stop shop for disinfecting products designed to clean car surfaces, bags, shoes, gadgets, and other day-to-day items that could come into contact with the virus at one point or another and put you and your family in harm's way. Being a wife and mother herself, Charisse underscores the necessity to be extra vigilant and conscious of cleanliness these days.

Looking at the months that have passed, we've all called the year 2020 "the greatest pause" in our lives, but according to Charisse, pausing is not at all the same thing as stopping.
