The Bb. Pilipinas International 2018 titleholder had a send-off yesterday at Novotel, where she looked every bit as regal and charming as a true queen. She wore a printed gray gown with a corset bodice by Cherry Veric. During her mini press con, Ahtisa revealed that she will be wearing a national costume inspired by Subanon tribe from Mindanao, created for her by Amir Sali, and an evening gown by Michael Cinco.
Also present in the event were Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar, and Ahtisa's family, who all gave the beauty queen their well wishes. Ahtisa is no stranger to pageants; in the past, she was also a festival queen in her hometown, Quezon.

This will be her first time in Japan, and Ahtisa sure is excited! Trying Japanese food is what she's most excited about. But, she is also looking forward to meeting the other contestants: “I’m excited to meet the girls!” A few days ago, Ahtisa met up with Bb. Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel de Leon, who advised her to mingle with her fellow beauty queens and show them how happy she is to be there.
She may be a beauty queen now, but Ahtisa recalls herself a Plain Jane when she was younger. She didn't mind stepping out with no makeup and unruly hair. After winning Bb. Pilipinas International, she begun training on and adjusting to how she should carry herself confidently. The first things she did were to workout, to eat healthy, and to read the Japanese news. Her workout routine mainly includes lifting weights. For her diet, she makes sure to eat healthy food, avoid processed food, and lean more towards greens and fruits. She also had to learn how to style her outfits and hair, and take her skincare regimen more seriously.
Since she's always wearing makeup these days, she makes sure she takes it off before sleeping, and follows up cleansing with toning and moisturizing. Ahtisa also emphasized the need to regularly apply sunscreen. When it comes to the style of makeup she prefers, she says the natural, fresh makeup look that Japanese women go for is her favorite.
Ahtisa is scheduled to leave for Japan on October 18. Should she succeed in bagging the Miss International 2018 title, she will be the seventh Filipina to win in the prestigious pageant. The Filipina beauty queens who were named Miss International were Gemma Cruz (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Bea Santiago (2013), and Kylie Verzosa (2016).
Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele Gumabao and Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2018 Eva Patalinjug were the first ones to be given a send-off event last month. Michele will compete in Miss Globe in Tirana, Albania on October 22, while Eva will compete in Miss Grand International on October 26 in Myanmar.
