    ABS-CBN Ball 2019—What A Night!

The most-awaited event of the year got us into Filipiniana frenzy—check out our exclusive coverage

That night, the stars were also fire—and we were all be witness to the beautiful collision of celebrity and charity for ABS-CBN Ball. On its second year, ABS-CBN Ball was by far the most prestigious event in the country that links red carpet style and fashion, anticipated the same way the Met Gala or the Oscars red carpet are revered.

But more than the glitz and glamour, that night was about giving back—celebrating ABS-CBN’s 65 years of service to the Filipino people. It was a night for the children, with its beneficiary, the Bantay Bata 163’s educational program.

While we worked the night away—we still had a blast welcoming everyone to the gorgeous Metro Photo and Video booths.

If you want to relive the experience with us, then come and watch (or rewatch) our livestream of the entire red carpet on Metro.Style YouTube Channel. On a personal note, I had sooo much fun in the panel with Metro.Style Editor-at-Large Sarah Meier, Tito Boy Abunda, Bianca Gonzales, with panelists Metro.Style Fashion and Beauty Editor Kate Paras, designer JC Buendia, and Leah Puyat! Around the same time, we also had a blow by blow account of the red carpet arrivals through Metro.Style's live updates, which got more and more exciting as the night progressed.

You can also check out some red carpet highlights here, here, and here—and learn more about the biggest winners that night: From Metro’s Best Dressed Male Richard Gutierrez, Best Dressed Female  Bea Alonzo, to the Belo Belle of the Ball Maymay Entrata, Belo Belle on the Rise Jane de Leon, Couple of the Night Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati, and Ever Bilena Red Carpet Stunner Chie Filomeno,

That night gave us so much style inspiration from the ball’s Modern Filipiniana dress code, which was why we came out with not just a Best Dressed Female list but also our Best Dressed Male list!

A highlight for us were the gowns and the intricate detailing, so we went over and beyond to see not only the fashion and beauty trends that night, but also touch base with the people behind the look—the stylists, makeup artists, and designers. We have the exclusives from Rajo Laurel to Vania Romoff, Francis Libiran, Michael Leyva, Jot Losa, Jo Rubio, Jor-el Espina, Gabbie Sarenas, and more; makeup artist Mickey See; plus the stylists—Ton Lao, Myrrh Lao To, and more.

We also have special stories from the stars themselves, who showed us what goes on behind the scenes: Alex Gonzaga, whom I spent time with a few days before the ball, to Pia Wurtzbach, and Andrea Brillantes.

There is still so much to share and to celebrate, so continue checking out Metro.Style for more updates. See you next week!
