Cat Arambulo-Antonio Is The First Filipino Judge On "The Apartment," The Biggest Interior Design Reality Show In Asia
“It all basically lies in the little details, that is what I love about interior design. The details is what makes the space come alive and brings out the person’s character and being,” says Cat Arambulo-Antonio. She joins Tyler Wisler and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in the sixth season of The Apartment, the first interior design competition reality show in Asia, to judge 12 selected personalities driven by their passion for design.
Born in Manila and raised in Los Angeles, Cat is an ex-fashion stylist turned fashion director, who is now growing her creativity in the realm of interior design. Always polished and dressed to the nines in her favorite color palette of black and white, she is also a blogger and social media influencer. She sets an example as the modern millennial mom, sharing her fitness and lifestyle tips on top of her signature edgy style.
She graduated with a degree in interior design from the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID). Now, she uses her voice to help elevate the world of Asian design together with the fun and creative cast team of The Apartment.?
When she’s not filming the show with the team, she is designing her own house. “Basically I do my interiors the way I would dress up. So it’s like fashion. I like very modern but at the same time I like having an art deco twist so I’m a big fan of brass and metallics. I like to accessorize with big statement pieces so I like chunky jewelries, so when it comes to interior design, I also like putting talking pieces, exotic pieces in the sense that when you enter the room and you see it, you are blown away,” she says. Her favorite furniture piece in the house is her red Tulip armchair by Marcel Wanders, which is an eye-catcher with its tall sculptural shape.
“This season has the best well designed rooms that they ever had during the whole time of The Apartment,” she says. “I also love all the cast. More than designers, they are people with passion. They took the extra mile in designing the rooms. They were able to show character, personality, and I feel that it all blended well together. It’s really amazing.”
