Cedie Lopez-Vargas' Trek-Filled Christmas Wishlist
The executive director of Lopez Museum & Library, Mercedes "Cedie" Lopez-Vargas, shares with Metro.Style her Christmas wish for her family:
"One of the most memorable trips my husband Vincent and I have ever taken was a trip to Northern Spain with my parents and siblings, to do the Camiño de Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage.
It was an almost two-week journey amidst ever-changing weather conditions that varied from warm sunny days to days of cold winds and rain. The treks took us through fields, forests, hilly terrains, small towns, and muddy country roads.
My Christmas wish would be to be able to do this journey once again with my entire family, and this time to take my children along."
Included in Cedie's wish list are:
- Plane tickets
- Proper hiking clothes and footwear (for cold and rain)
- Books on the Camino experience: "The Pilgrimage" by Paulo Coelho, "The Camino: A Spiritual Journey" by Shirley MacLaine, and "Buen Camino" by Natasha and Peter Murtagh
- Spanish cheeses and red wine to take along on the journey
- An excellent dinner at one of the rated restaurants in Galicia to celebrate the end of the pilgrimage
